The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Cleveland Browns have requested permission from the Philadelphia Eagles to interview their general manager, Tom Heckert.

Our View:Heckert does not have final say on personnel in Philly, so a move to Cleveland likely would not be a lateral one.

The Browns hit a snag on Monday when they found out that they won't be able to interview the Ravens' director of pro personnel George Kokinis until Sunday for their GM post, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Our View:Kokinis is the recommendation made by prospective head coach Eric Mangini. The pair have been looked at as a package deal, but it's unlikely that Mangini would decline an offer from the Browns if they didn't bring in Kokinis.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have requested permission to interview Ravens Director of Pro Personnel George Kokinis for their GM opening. He is apparently the choice of coaching candidate Eric Mangini.

Our View:Should the interview go well, it appears the Browns are ready to quickly hire Mangini and Kokinis.

New England Patriots vice president Scott Pioli is continuing to look at his options and is expected to interview with the Kansas City Chiefs in the next couple of days, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:Pioli will almost certainly have a new position before the Super Bowl, but it remains unclear where. We'll keep you posted on his job status in the coming days.

Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will meet with team officials from both the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns on Saturday, reports Adam Schefter of NFL.com.

Our View:Schwartz is said to want the Cleveland job. He has been able to interview this week because the Titans have a bye week.
