Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Clemons has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, according to PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

Our View:Clemons sacked Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo twice in Week 17 and also ran back a Romo fumble 73 yards for a score.

Chris Clemons had an uneventful preseason due to injuries but aims to have a productive regular season as a pass-rusher with the Eagles, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He said, "Just show up on Sundays and take notes. The proof is in the pudding. Unfortunately, the injuries came in the preseason, and I wasn't able to show the organization exactly what I'm capable of doing. Would the fans rather see me in the preseason or in the regular season? That's the question. Not to say that preseason isn't important, but at the end of the day, if you get hurt in the preseason, then there is no regular season."

Our View:Clemens emerged as a pass-rushing threat with Oakland last season as he racked up eight sacks, and he is worthy of a roster spot as a backup in IDP leagues, especially those that put a premium on sacks.

Defensive end Chris Clemons, healed from his calf strain, will practice this week and should be ready to go Week 1 when the Eagles take on the Rams, according to PhillyBurbs.com.

Our View:Clemons had eight sacks with the Raiders a season ago, and will be a pass rushing threat with the Eagles.

Chris Clemons is considered day-to-day due to his calf strain, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:His development has been hindered by the ailment, as the former member of the Raiders is trying to learn a new defense. Clemons was brought in to improve the Eagles' pass rush as he racked up eight sacks in 2007.

Chris Clemons is having a difficult time making a positive impact in Eagles camp after coming over as a free agent, according to Pro Football Weekly. So far he hasn't grasped the defense and is getting beaten regularly.

Our View:The Eagles signed Clemons to get to the QB, but his slow start has relegated him to back-up duty for now.
