It has been revealed that Wes Welker is also recovering from a torn rotator cuff, along with torn knee ligaments, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:It is uncertain exactly where Welker injured his rotator cuff. There has been speculation that he won't be ready to return to the gridiron until around Thanksgiving, and Julian Edelman looks like a preferred receiver to have on fantasy rosters early in the 2010 campaign.

The Providence Journal speculates that Wes Welker (knee surgery) could be out through Thanksgiving.

Our View:Keep in mind that this is just speculation by one beat writer, Shalise Manza Young. Still, it goes to show you the uncertainty surrounding Welker at this point, and while it's fair to be skeptical that Welker will miss so much time, the same skepticism should follow with any reports that claim Welker could be ready by Week 1. It's impossible to tell at this point exactly when Welker will be back, though there's certainly reason for keeper league owners to be nervous.

Wes Welker has been doing very well in the early stages of his recovery from knee surgery to repair his torn ACL, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's remember that the star wideout is just three weeks into his rehab process. It's nice to hear positive feedback, but Welker still has a long way to go between now and next season, and he remains iffy to be ready by the start of the 2010 campaign.
February 2, 2010
As expected, Wes Welker underwent surgery today to repair the torn ligaments in his left knee, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Now the star receiver will get ready for rehab, which could last from six to twelve months. It is believed Welker has a slight chance of being recovered in time for Week 1 of the 2010 campaign.

Wes Welker is slated for surgery on February 2nd to repair a torn ligament (ACL) in his left knee, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The star receiver could be on the shelf for six to twelve months, depending on how well he recovers. Doctors state that there is a possibility he could be ready for Week 1, but that is unlikely.
