Former USC standout Mike Williams has been cut by the Tennessee Titans, according to the Tennessean. Despite losing weight before camp, he was still heavy and running slower than most.

Our View:Williams could still catch on somewhere, but don't expect any fantasy impact out of him. If the Titans are cutting a wideout this early, he can't be very good.

Mike Williams has lost weight and shown improvement in the off-season, but is still considered a longshot to make the Titans final roster this season, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Justin Gage and Justin McCareins are locks to make the roster (as projected starters), and Biren Ealy is safe as he is impressing the club with a strong showing in practice. Williams would be competing with Brandon Jones, Roydell Williams, Chris Davis, Paul Williams, and rookie Lavelle Hawkins for the remaining spots on the depth chart.

Coach Jeff Fisher told Mike Williams to lose weight or else back in January, according to FanNation.com. Williams responded by losing more than 30 pounds, and arrived early to show off his hard work.

Our View:Williams was the 10th overall pick in the 2005 draft, and the Titans will be his third NFL team in four seasons. He knows this will be his last chance to prove his worth in the league, and will have a chance to compete for a solid role as the Titans are among the weakest teams in the NFL at wide receiver.

Mike Williams tweaked his ankle during one on one's on Friday and as a result was forced to sit out most of practice the rest of the day , accroding to the Nashville City Paper. The injury did not appear serious as he stayed on to watch the rest of practice.

Our View:The former first round draft pick may be getting his last chance to prove himself after failing miserably to make his mark the past couple of seasons. The Titans need help at wide receiver, so if he isn't able to make it here he likely will have all the time he wants to sit on his couch and eat ding dongs.

Mike Williams looks better after losing 20 pounds in the off-season, but still needs to get in shape, according to the Tennessean. Mike Heimerdinger said, "He has great ability. It’s a new scheme to him, a new thing, so he has to stay on top of what we are doing. And he has to keep working to stay in shape so he can run more than two routes in a row."

Our View:He failed to make an impact in Detroit and Oakland and Tennessee could be his last stop if he doesn't get his career on track this season. He lacks speed, and his hands weren't as good as they were at USC so far in the NFL.
