The Vikings are not believed to be interested in free agent Willie Parker, according to Judd Zulgad's (Star Tribune) twitter page.

Our View:This shoots down a rumor that has been circulating stating that Parker was on Minnesota's radar. The club needs to find a replacement for No. 2 running back Chester Taylor, and they are most currently being linked to LaDainian Tomlinson.

Willie Parker will make his first free agent visit next week when he travels to the nation's capital to meet with Daniel Snyder and the Redskins, according to Pittsburgh's CBS affiliate KDKA.

Our View:The Redskins are in need of a backup running back, and Parker has no chance of landing a starting job anywhere. He should find interest in Washington in somewhere else, however, if he's willing to accept his role as a clear backup.

Impending free agent Willie Parker said that he wants a chance to start next season, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I'm a starter (and) always looked at myself as starter, that's what I want to be," said Parker.

Our View:Good luck, Willie, but it ain't gunna' happen. There's no chance that Parker would start over Rashard Mendenhall if he returned to Pittsburgh, and assuming he leaves, it's unlikely any franchise would bring him in with a realistic shot at starting. A role as a mentor to a younger runner with a chance to see a few snaps as a change-of-pace back is his best bet.
