Patrick Crayton caught two passes for 16 yards and a touchdown in the Week 12 victory over San Francisco.

Our View:In the last four games, Crayton has compiled seven receptions for 75 yards and one score. With Tony Romo back in the fold, Crayton is a marginal flex option in basic scoring leagues.

Patrick Crayton will return punts now that Pacman Jones has been suspended, according to The Dallas Morning News. "I gotta get back to returning punts back there," said Crayton. "I've got to get my crazy attitude back."

Our View:Crayton averaged 9.1 yards per punt return last season and takes over for the highly accomplished Jones. Given that Crayton will receive less targets on offense with Roy Williams in town, this is a new way that he will continue to be able to help the Cowboys.

Patrick Crayton failed to catch a pass on Sunday night against the Packers. In his first two weeks he had eight catches for 105 yards.

Our View:Seldom-heard-from receiver Miles Austin shined in Crayton's absence. Austin caught Tony Romo's lone touchdown and totaled 115 yards. Is Crayton's job in jeopardy? At this point, it's too early to tell. He remains Dallas' number two wideout for now.

Patrick Crayton showed what kind of value he will have this year as the Cowboys' No. 2 receiver. He recorded six catches for 82 yards on the day.

Our View:At this pace Crayton will have 96 catches for 1300 yards on the season. Not bad for a mid-rounder in most formats. Now all he has to do is keep the pace for... 15 more games.

If the season started today wide receiver Patrick Crayton would be the starter opposite Terrell Owens, but the team would prefer to line him up in the slot, according to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View:The organization has been attempting to trade for a veteran to fill the No. 2 role, and are keeping their fingers crossed that Terry Glenn can return from multiple knee surgeries, which wrecked his 2007 campaign. For now, Crayton, who has started 20 games during the past two seasons is penciled into the starting lineup, and would represent a nice sleeper candidate in the Cowpokes explosive offense.

The Dallas Cowboys will keep their eyes on veteran receivers around the league as the 2008 NFL draft approaches, according to Pro Football Weekly. The organization is keeping their eyes on Chad Johnson, Anquan Boldin and Roy Williams – and should any of them come available – might be willing to part with one of their first-round picks as compensation. The team likes Patrick Crayton, who started most of last season and could be a No. 2 if needed, but the choice of adding a top veteran wide receiver over a rookie who might be two years away from developing fully is very appealing to the organization.

Patrick Crayton is working out earlier than usual at Valley Ranch in preparation for the Dallas Cowboys offseason program that commences in late March, according to the Dallas Morning News. Crayton said he's still hearing criticism for his performance in the Cowboys' playoff loss to the Giants. He had a critical dropped pass and hesitated during a route in the end zone on another play. "My eight-year old brother was the first one to ask, 'Man what happened? Why you dropped that ball?' " Crayton said. "You go 'Wow'. That's when it hits home." Crayton, who has the inside track on the No. 2 receiver slot, started 13 games last season – compiling 50 receptions, 697 yards and seven scores.
