Defensive end Jared Allen had two sacks and a forced fumble in Minnesota's loss to Philadelphia on Sunday.

Our View:Allen is one of the best in the game at his position. He had 14.5 sacks and three forced fumbles on the season.

ESPN.com reports that politicians in Minnesota have said no to the team getting any type of public funding in 2009 for a new stadium.

Our View:Owner Zygi Wilf wants a new stadium, and wants $600 million in public money, but with the current economy, it would be tough to justify that type of spending. The team has a lease with the Metrodome through 2011. If Wilf decides to sell at that point, it's not out of the realm of possibility the team could move, though that's far down the line.

Jared Allen practiced Friday after sitting out the previous two days to undergo treatment on his sprained left knee, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:This is encouraging news, but the Vikings are yet to determine the elite defensive end's status against Atlanta.

Jared Allen will miss Thursday's practice with a sprained left knee, according to the Pioneer Press. He's expected to play on Sunday.

Our View:The Vikings will need him, as they are already without lineman Pat Williams and they are battling for a playoff spot with the Atlanta Falcons.

It has been revealed that Jared Allen suffered a sprained MCL December 7 against the Lions, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Allen is fifth in the NFL with 14.5 sacks this season, and hasn't really been slowed by the injury. The elite defensive end should remain penciled into lineups in Week 16 against the Falcons.
