Josh Scobee , who hasn’t kicked since straining his quad in pregame warm-ups prior to the season opener, might be back in the mix this week. “We’ll see how he goes thorugh practice this week and make a determination at some point,” Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio told the Florida Times-Union. “He kicked last week without incident, so I do think he’s closer to being an option for us.”

Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee will miss 3-to-6 weeks with a strained quadriceps, according to the Associated Press. John Carney will handle the kicking duties for the Jaguars while Scobee is out of action.

Josh Scobee hopes to miss just a couple of games with his strained quad, though Jack Del Rio wasn't ruling out a more lengthy absence Tuesday. In the meantime, 43-year-old John Carney will handle the placekicking chores for the Jaguars.

Josh Scobee has a seven-centimeter strain in his quad but no tear, and he told the Florida Times-Union he'll have a better idea of his availability later in the week. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have contacted John Carney and Billy Cundiff about filling in for Scobee if he's unable to go. There are enough healthy kickers in the NFL that you shouldn't have to worry about this situation, but if your fantasy team is banking on points from Scobee this week you'd best keep an eye on whether or not Jacksonville signs a short-term replacement.

Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee said his quad injury isn’t as severe as first expected, and would not rule himself out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons, according to the team's official website. However, despite the positive news about their kicker, the team is expected to work out free agent kickers Tuesday to find a potential replacement should Scobee not be able to go in week two.
