Ernest Wilford has signed a new deal with the Jaguars, according to ESPN. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Our View:Wilford holds no fantasy value, but is a good team player for Jacksonville. He only notched 11 receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown over 15 games in 2009.

Ernest Wilford is out against the Jets this Sunday with a knee injury, according to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union.

Our View:Wilford has just five catches this season, and his absence shouldn't create any big disruptions for the Jags' offense.

Michael Wright, of the Florida Times-Union, reports that Ernest Wilford was signed by the Jaguars and will play tight end this season if he makes the squad. He was released by the Dolphins yesterday.

Our View:Wilford has never played tight end before, but he has played for the Jags and is familiar with their offense and coaching staff. Marcedes Lewis will likely remain the starter as long as he is healthy.

According to the Twitter page of superagent Drew Rosenhaus, the Miami Dolphins have released tight end/wide receiver Ernest Wilford. Wilford was attempting to transition from receiver to tight end this season.

Our View:There have been mixed messages coming out of Miami on Wilford this summer, but this move can hardly be considered a surprise. He was a project who was going to be the third tight end at best, so the Phins decided to stop the experiment before it really began. Wilford has been disappointing in his NFL career thus far, but with his size and pass catching ability he should catch on somewhere else.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Ernest Wilford has shown signs of life at his new position.

Our View:Recently switched from wide receiver to tight end, Wilford could challenge for the third TE spot if he can block successfully. He's a big guy and could be a nice pass catching option, but if he beats out Joey Haynos he'll still sit behind starter Anthony Fasano and backup David Martin on the depth chart.
