Jerricho Cotchery commented on Jets' rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez (USC), according to their official team website. Cotchery compared Sanchez to Chargers' quarterback Philip Rivers and said, "I watched the rookie minicamp, the practices, on film. I saw some of those same things when he was able to put the ball where he wants to put it. Philip Rivers was an accuracy guy. He was able to put the ball wherever he feels. I saw some of those same things on film when I was watching."

Our View:Cotchery mentioned Rivers as the pair played together at NC State. Cotchery inherits the No. 1 role at receiver in New York following the departure of speed demon Laveranues Coles to Cincinnati, and it sounds like Cotchery is going to build a nice chemistry with Sanchez.

New Jets' receivers coach Henry Ellard praised Jerricho Cotchery, according to the Jets' official website. Ellard said, "Cotchery is just a playmaker. He is amazing. He is not the fastest guy in the world, but he finds ways to get the ball into his hands and he makes plays. He breaks tackles. He is strong. He is a smart player and has done things well. He will continue to get better. He is still a young pup to me, but the more he plays, the more situations he is in, the better he is going to become."

Our View:Cotchery averages 78 catches and 983 yards over his last three seasons and looks to benefit by the presence of Ellard, who enjoyed a strong career with the Rams. But Cotchery's fantasy potential will depend on who the Jets have under center. It is uncertain if Brett Favre will be back.

The Jets have reached out to former Ravens HC Brian Billick, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Billick could come a bit cheaper than Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan, as the Ravens still owe him $10 million after firing him at the end of last season.

Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery reeled in six balls for 81 yards in the Week 16 loss to Seattle.

Our View:This was a decent performance in PPR formats, but Cotchery has been a major disappointment in recent weeks. Over the last 10 games, Cotchery has compiled 55 or fewer yards six times and only two touchdowns since Week 4.
December 14, 2008
Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery caught four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 win over the Bills.

Our View:Hey, welcome back to the end zone, Jerricho. That's only his second score in the last 10 games.
