September 25, 2007 Julius Jones is looking for a new helmet after he suffered a concussion on Sunday night. It was his second concussion in just three games this season, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Jones is expected to be fine for Week 4. |

May 14, 2007 Julius Jones feels much more free to choose his running spots under Wade Phillips. "I think maybe I was being told where to run and not really able to use my instincts, and that's what got me here," Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Maybe I listened to coach (Bill) Parcells a little too much and was just kind of running like a robot." Jones spent the offseason working out in Arizona in preparation for the fourth and final year of his rookie contract. "I think this system [allows] a back to have a little more freedom to make plays and do what I do," Jones added. |

March 15, 2007 The Cowboys are not trying to trade Julius Jones, owner Jerry Jones told the Star-Telegram. "I don't see a trade happening," Jones said. "We have a team that is going to need some great play from that position. I like what we have done there. More than likely, unless we have an opportunity to [draft a running back], we are going to go with the backs we ended the season with." Jones shared carries with Marion Barber last year, and Barber was more productive for much of the season. |

January 7, 2007 Julius Jones was the most impressive skill player for the Cowboys on offense Saturday, as he rushed for 112 yards in the playoff defeat to the Seahawks. Jones also had two short catches, though they went for a net of zero yards. Running-mate Marion Barber wasn't really a factor on the ground (three carries, four yards), though Barber did catch three passes for 23 yards. |
