Kevin Jones will miss the entire 2009 season after tearing a ligament in his left ankle in the Bears' final preseason game on Thursday, according to the National Football Post.

Our View:Garrett Wolfe or (the other) Adrian Peterson will have to back-up Matt Forte now. Jones had previously tore an ACL in 2007.

Bears' running back Kevin Jones ws carted off the field with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury on Thursday, according to the Twitter page of NFL writer Brad Biggs. Jones is scheduled to be the backup to Matt Forte this season.

Our View:This doesn't look good for Jones and the Bears, and it seems very possible that he could miss significant time. It would be a big blow to the team if he is out, but we will keep you updated on his condition when it is released. Garrett Wolfe and Adrian Peterson should battle for the backup position while Jones is out.

Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner said on Thursday that running back Kevin Jones "(is) going to be productive for us. He's going to have a pretty good role," according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:Matt Forte is obviously the man in Chicago, but Jones is beginning to sound like he'll be a great handcuff pick should Forte go down. Don't draft him unless you are in an absurdly deep league or an NFC-only format, but be sure to pounce should Forte have to miss any time.

Kevin Jones looked good in camp on Friday, and the Chicago Tribune reports that "his burst is back."

Our View:It shouldn't be too surprising that Jones looks better. Heading into 2007, he was coming off a serious foot injury. Going into 2008, he was coming off a torn ACL. Jones will be the primary backup to Matt Forte and should exceed the 34 carries he saw last season.

Running back Kevin Jones has agreed on a two-year deal worth approximately $3.5 million with the Bears, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:The Bears valued Jones so much as a backup to Matt Forte, that they matched a pair of offers made by the Buffalo Bills.
