Vince Wilfork is questionable for Week 6 against Tennessee due to an ankle injury, according to the Patriots' official website. He was limited in Friday's practice.

Our View:Rising star Chris Johnson and the Titans' offense could catch a break if the elite nose tackle is slowed or unable to play Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
October 15, 2009
Vince Wilfork was limited in Thursday's practice while nursing an ankle ailment, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The stud nose tackle fought through the injury last week at Denver, and should have a good chance of playing in Week 6 against the Titans.
October 14, 2009
Vince Wilfork was limited in today's practice while nursing an ankle ailment, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The elite nose tackle was able to play through the injury in Week 5, and should be a good bet to take the gridiron this weekend against the Titans.
October 11, 2009
Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (ankle) is active for the Week 5 game against the Broncos.

Our View:We expected the stud nose tackle to suit up, and he won't make life easy for Knowshon Moreno and the Broncos offensive line.

Vince Wilfork was limited in Wednesday's practice while still recovering from an ankle injury, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View:Rookie running back Knowshon Moreno and the Broncos would catch a break if the elite nose tackle is slowed or unable to go in Week 5.

Patriots' beat writer Mike Reiss is reporting that defensive tackle Vince Wilfork was present for the start of practice on Friday. Wilfork has missed the previous two days with a sprained ankle.

Our View:This doesn't guarantee that Wilfork will play this weekend, but it sure doesn't hurt his chances. If he is able to go at all, expect the Pats to plug him into his usual spot in the middle.
October 1, 2009
The Boston Globe is reporting that Patriots' defensive tackle Vince Wilfork did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Wilfork is suffering from an sprained ankle.

Our View:It's not looking good for Wilfork playing this weekend, but you just never know with Bill Belichick and the Pats. We should know more after tomorrow's practice, as he will likely need to go if he is going to be able to play.

It has been revealed that Vince Wilfork suffered a sprained ankle during Sunday's battle with Atlanta, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:It is uncertain if the elite nose tackle will be able to go in Week 4 against Baltimore, but the injury is not believed to be long-term.

Not surprisingly, the Patriots offered no update on defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (ankle) after the Week 3 win over the Falcons, ESPN.com reports. Wilfork did not return after the second quarter.

Our View:The local media can barely eke out any info about guys like Wes Welker and Randy Moss, and we don't imagine Bill Belichick will offer much about Wilfork this week. The Pats defense would be vulnerable without the huge nose tackle.
September 27, 2009
Vince Wilfork left today's game against Atlanta with an apparent ankle injury, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Wilfork is an elite nose tackle, and Falcons' running back Michael Turner could benefit with him out of action. He limped off the field, and his return is uncertain.

Vince Wilfork returned to practice Friday after being away from the team Thursday to attend to his wife Bianca for the birth of their son, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Wilfork still covets a new contract, but the elite nose tackle does not look to be a distraction in camp.
July 26, 2009
ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork is expected to report to training camp on time despite his desire for a new contract. Wilfork is still working on his rookie contract, and he is due to make $2.2 million this season.

Our View:Wilfork looks to be in line for a raise, but he is not letting his contract situation affect his status on the field. He attended the mandatory minicamp sessions and he does not plan to miss training camp. His payday will come, but for now he will continue to do his job at his current wage.

Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork is attending the start of the Patriots' three-day minicamp on Wednesday. "I love football. If something's mandatory, I signed a six-year deal and I'm going to meet all of my obligations," Wilfork tells the Boston Herald. He is looking for a contract extension.

Our View:The Patriots sound like they are interested in working out a long-term deal with the nose tackle, who is the lynchpin of their 3-4 defense. His arrival could help those efforts.
June 10, 2009
The Patriots begin a three-day, mandatory minicamp on Wednesday, and there is a "strong vibe" that defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will attend, the Boston Globe.

Our View:We use the term "strong vibe" when we're trying to justify betting on red or hitting on 15. Let's hope the paper's feeling actually have more basis than that.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Vince Wilfork was in attendance for the Patriots Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday. Wilfork has sat out all offseason team activities thus far, but his attendance at the golf tournament may signal his willingness to show up for mandatory camps in June.

Our View:This is a good sign for the Pats, but it is far from set in stone that he will attend the mandatory camps in June. Wilfork is unhappy with his deal, and it doesn't figure to be resolved any time soon. We will keep you updated on his status for the June camps.
June 3, 2009
According to the Boston Herald, Vince Wilfork is considering sitting out mandatory team workouts until the Patriots address his contract.

Our View:Wilfork sounds like a typical selfish pro athlete. He's unhappy with his contract and it looks like he's willing to do what it takes to get his money. Hopefully the Patriots realize that Wilfork "has to look out for Vince Wilfork". Otherwise both sides will suffer.
June 3, 2009
Vince Wilfork missed another OTA session on Tuesday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Wilfork is holding out until the Patriots address his contract. He will become an unrestricted free agent in 2010 if the Pats don't sign him to a new deal this year. The big nose tackle likely won't show his face until the contract issue is resolved, or at least addressed.
May 11, 2009
The Patriots are yet to reopen negotiations with Vince Wilfork regarding a contract extension, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Wilfork will become an unrestricted free agent in 2010 if the Patriots do no lock him up with a new deal. He is willing to wait for a new contract however, and does not intend to pressure the club.
February 11, 2009
The New England Patriots have not come to nose tackle Vince Wilfork about a contract extension, something he would like to happen, the Boston Globe reports. "I'm sure they'll do whatever they have to do. I have that last year, and I'm preparing to play and play well. It's not going to change me. But they know the longer it takes the more it costs," Wilfork remarked.

Our View:The Pro Bowler is entering the final year of his original rookie deal. With the amount of money they are paying Matt Cassel at the moment, they cannot begin to negotiate with the plethora of free agents they'll have at the end of next season due to cap restrictions. The team is facing massive defections next year, as some of the free-agents to be include Wilfork, Logan Mankins, Richard Seymour, Ben Watson, Ellis Hobbs and Stephen Gotkowski.
