Shawn Andrews (back) has been released by the Eagles, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Eagles' offensive lineman Shawn Andrews is on his way to Los Angeles to have his ailing back examined by the doctor who performed his surgery. Andrews is on the IR because of the lingering back problems.

Our View:Andrews was injured in Week 2 last season, and looked to be on his way back before hurting his back during a fitness run at the start of training camp. The loss is a blow to the Eagles, but at least he should know more about his future after meeting with the doctor.
