The NFL Network confirms that the Week 17 game between the Bills and Patriots in Buffalo will start on time. There are very heavy winds in the area. The ground crew needed to repair bent goal posts, and the local report suggested that passing, kicking and punting will be an adventure.

Our View:Fantasy owners will want to avoid this game if they have decent options to use instead of Lee Evans, Randy Moss, and Matt Cassel. You should certainly bench Stephen Gostkowski and Rian Lindell.
November 30, 2008
Lee Evans posted seven receptions for 80 yards in the Week 13 loss to San Francisco.

Our View:In the last two games, Evans has compiled 12 receptions for 190 yards, but he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 7. Regardless, he should be a solid play next week against the Dolphins leaky secondary.
November 23, 2008
Lee Evans caught five passes for 110 yards on Sunday.

Our View:It was Evans' fourth 100-yard game of the season, but it is little consolation for his no-catch performance in Week 11.
October 26, 2008
Wide receiver Lee Evans caught seven passes for 116 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Dolphins.

Our View:Evans ended a three-game scoring streak, but fantasy owners should still be pleased. He is usually a second half performer, which should have fantasy managers very excited about his work to come.
October 19, 2008
Wide receiver Lee Evans caught eight balls for 89 yards and one touchdown in the Week 7 win over Buffalo.

Our View:Evans, who has compiled 88 or more yards and a touchdown in each of the past three games, is off to the best start of his five-year career.
October 2, 2008
As expected, Lee Evans has signed a multi-year extension with the Bills, according to the Bills' official website. It is believed to be a four-year extension worth $37.25 million.

Our View:Evans is off to a great start with 14 receptions for 332 yards and a score, and helped guide the Bills to a 4-0 record.
October 2, 2008
The Buffalo Bills and receiver Lee Evans have been talking for more than half of a year about a new contract, and it seems that talks have finally moved in a positive direction, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Evans has had a great year, totaling 332 yards on 14 receptions with one touchdown catch. He is averaging 23.7 yards per reception, and is the team's best deep threat.
September 28, 2008
Lee Evans had two receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown for the Bills in Week 4 vs. St. Louis.

Our View:The receptions were for 49 and 39 yards. While Evans has been productive, it was only his first touchdown of the season on Sunday. Still, he is well on his way to re-establishing himself as a top fantasy option with 15 receptions and 332 yards after a sub-par 2007 season.
September 17, 2008
Lee Evans reports that contract talks between he and the Bills are heating up according to the AP. "We’re a lot closer. We have closed the gap," said Evans, who’s entering the final year of his contract. "Hopefully, we can get it done sooner than later. But I’m not really worried.

Our View:In two games, he has a team-leading eight catches for 179 yards, which is plenty for a receiver that had difficulty cracking 200 yards in the first month of each of his first four seasons—and had a meager 22 at this point last year. Evans’ role in particular has changed. Unlike in the past, when Evans would almost exclusively line up on the outside as the Bills’ deep threat, the receiver is being moved around to keep defenses guessing. It helps, too, that Buffalo is getting other players involved: eight Bills have at least one catch so far.
September 14, 2008
Lee Evans posted four receptions for 77 yards in the Bills victory over Jacksonville.

Our View:Evans, who is a notoriously slow starter, has posted solid digits during the first two weeks of the season. He hasn't hit paydirt, but Evans has compiled eight receptions for 179 yards during the first two weeks of 2008.
August 24, 2008
Buffalo wide out Lee Evans had a strong game, catching five balls for 44 yards in the Bills 20-7 preseason win over the Colts.

Our View:Evans was disappointing last season, but certainly carries the potential to be a very good No. 2 wide receiver on fantasy teams.
August 15, 2008
Lee Evans performed well in Thursday's exhibition against the Steelers, with three receptions for a team-high 55 yards.

Our View:Evans has potential to be an elite fantasy receiver. The Bills just need to find consistency at quarterback. Speaking of that, Trent Edwards completed 9-of-11 passes for 104 yards with two scores (both to Robert Royal).
July 26, 2008
Buffalo wide receiver Lee Evans worked in the offseason catching passes from second-year quarterback Trent Edwards, and the duo started off training camp by putting together some nice plays early, according to BuffaloBills.com.

Our View:Lee Evans has a chance to return to elite status in fantasy if he can continue this. He was disappointing last year, and his stock has taken a dip because of it. Evans could wind up as a steal should he and Edwards make a steady transition to the regular season.
July 18, 2008
Wide receiver Lee Evans is not likely to be a training camp holdout despite his desire for a new contract, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:This is good news for fantasy players as Evans has more time to work with quarterback Trent Edwards. Evans was a disappointment in fantasy play last season, so working with Edwards as much as possible in training camp should help.
June 9, 2008
Lee Evans commented on his contract and a potential extension, according to ESPN.com. Evans noted that there was nothing new in contract talks with Buffalo, but he hopes he can get a deal done soon. He also said that his goal is to finish his career with one team.

Our View:Evans is among the most dangerous receivers in the NFL, and would rack up strong numbers if the Bills can just find consistency at quarterback. He is well worth a long-term investment by the team.
May 29, 2008
The Buffalo Bills recently offered Lee Evans a lowball contract extension, one the wide receiver declined, according to Pro Football Weekly. Evans’ contract expires at the end of next season, and the Bills are placing a premium on inking him to a long-term extension before training camp commences.

Our View:Evans has performed well on the field, and is one of the most respected leaders in the locker room. He is receptive to staying in Buffalo long-term, so look for the Bills to eventually come through with a mutually acceptable offer.
May 22, 2008
Lee Evans likely won't participate with his teammates until training camp as he works his way back into shape from a shoulder operation, according to the Bills Official Website.

Our View:Lee continues to progress quite nicely and unless something unforeseen happens, there is little reason to think that Evans won't be fully healthy by the time the games count.
May 19, 2008
Lee Evans has been offered a contract extension to continue his career with the Bills, according to Fox Sports. "We have been involved in negotiations with his agent, but per team policy, we don't discuss details," Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said. "Our position regarding Lee has been consistent in that we want him to remain as a Buffalo Bill."

Our View:Evans, who underwent shoulder surgery this off-season, would likely be looking for something akin to a 4-year, $35-40 million dollar deal, and it remains to be seen if the Bills will shell out that kind of dough for an inconsistent source of production like Evans.
May 19, 2008
The Buffalo Bills players were flying around in a no-pads, non-contact practice session that lasted 90 minutes, according to the Buffalo News. There was almost full participation. The only absentees were tackle Jason Peters, punter Brian Moorman, and rookie fullback Mike Viti, the Army product. Receiver Lee Evans did not participate in team drills. He had offseason shoulder surgery.

Our View:Lee is expected to return to drills within the next few weeks and be at full strength by training camp.
April 21, 2008
One of the pressing issues confronting the Buffalo Bills is making sure they re-sign wide receiver Lee Evans before he enters the free-agent fray next offseason, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Evans is viewed as a premier receiver by those around the league and would command a deal commensurate with some of the game’s elite wide receivers on the open market. Buffalo dishes out the big bucks judiciously, but according to team insiders there is no doubt they’ll pony up the cash to keep Evans in Buffalo, even if it doesn’t happen until deep into the ’08 season.
March 16, 2008
Lee Evans can void his contract after the 2008 season, according to the Buffalo News. Needless to say, the Bills hope to lock him up to an extension before that happens, but Evans probably will need to see improvements on the field from the team in 2008 before he'll consider it. Expect him to be motivated to improve on last year's disappointing campaign and cash in as a free agent next offseason, unless the Bills are willing to shell out a monster deal before then.
February 23, 2008
The Bills are hoping to draft a tall receiver to help complement Lee Evans next season, according to the Buffalo News. Oklahoma’s Malcolm Kelly is one such option they could take with the 11th overall pick. Getting the 5-foot-10 Evans some help so he doesn't have to face constant double-teams would be a big step towards getting a rebound performance for Evans, whose production dropped of significantly from 2006 to 2007.
January 17, 2008
Lee Evans is going to have a "cleanup" shoulder surgery in the offseason, according to The Buffalo News. The shoulder bothered him off-and-on during 2007.
