Tony Romo commented that he doesn't believe his healing right pinkie will present any issues going forward, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Our View:He threw two interceptions in his first game back last weekend against the Redskins but performed well to pencil him into fantasy lineups in Week 12 against an unstable 49ers' pass defense that has surrendered 15 scores through the air.
November 18, 2008
Tony Romo will continue to sport a splint on his healing right pinkie for the next two weeks, according to the Cowboys' official website.

Our View:His accuracy was off a bit, evidenced by two interceptions thrown in Week 11 against Washington, but he still played well enough to merit fantasy consideration in Week 12 against an unstable 49ers' pass defense.
November 16, 2008
Tony Romo didn't play well in his first game back from a pinkie injury Sunday, throwing for just 198 yards and a touchdown while getting picked off twice.

Our View:Romo said after the game that he couldn't get a good grip on the ball on a few throws, but overall the pinkie didn't really hinder him. He has a nice matchup at home against the 49ers next week.
November 14, 2008
Tony Romo fully practiced Friday and is on target to return to action this weekend against the Redskins following his recovery from a broken pinkie, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:This is great news, and the fantasy stock of the Cowboys' pass catchers should start to go back up, namely Terrell Owens.
November 10, 2008
Tony Romo is nearing his return to the gridiron following his recovery from a broken pinkie, according to NFL.com. He seems ready to play this weekend against the rival Redskins, and coach Wade Phillips said, "He’s throwing with more zip on the ball. He looks more comfortable. He’s getting better and better in getting back to where he was."

Our View:This is encouraging news, and the production of the Cowboys' pass catchers should go back up upon his return, namely Terrell Owens.
November 6, 2008
Tony Romo practiced Thursday, according to the Cowboys' official website. He is trying to bounce back from a broken pinkie, and reportedly had no issues gripping or throwing the ball.

Our View:He remains on track to return to the gridiron in Week 11 at Washington following the Cowboys' bye. The production of the Cowboys' pass catchers should go back up upon his return, namely Terrell Owens.
November 5, 2008
Tony Romo returned to practice today, according to FOX Sports. He took snaps and threw passes with a small splint on his throwing hand. He's missed the last three games with a broken pinkie.

Our View:He reported no issues, and is optimistic of returning in Week 11 after the Cowboys' bye.
November 2, 2008
Tony Romo, RB Felix Jones, CB Quincy Butler, CB Terence Newman, OG Kyle Kosier, OT Joe Berger, OT Doug Free, and WR Isaiah Stanback are all inactive for the Cowboys.

Our View:Romo misses another game with his broken pinkie. Brad Johnson starts, but will be on a short leash with Brooks Bollinger ready to step in if Johnson struggles. Tight end Jason Witten is active.
October 26, 2008
Cowboys inactives: QB Tony Romo, RB Felix Jones, S Daren Stone, CB Terence Newman, OG Kyle Kosier, OG Joe Berger, OT Doug Free, OLB Anthony Spencer.

Our View:Tony Romo (finger) and Felix Jones (hamstring) are inactive. Brad Johnson will start for the second consecutive week at quarterback and Tashard Choice will backup Marion Barber.
October 23, 2008
Tony Romo will not be playing for some time, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "The week-to-week stuff is kind of not true," Romo said.

Our View:Clearly, the week-to-week talk isn't "kind of" not true, it simply isn't true. Meaning fantasy teams should be prepared to be without the gunslinger until Week 11, after the Cowboys' bye.
October 22, 2008
The Cowboys had hoped to get Tony Romo back sooner than later but that might not be the case. Romo told the AP on Wednesday, "I don't know when I'll be back," Romo said. "I think definitely the idea now is to get healthy by that bye week."

Our View:The Cowboys' bye week is in Week 10, so that means Romo will miss at least two more games.
October 21, 2008
Tony Romo will miss his second straight game on Sunday with a fractured pinkie, according to the Dallas Morning-News. "Brad is going to go this week unless something happens that I don't foresee," Romo said. "It will be very difficult to change. It took a long time to come up with [a splint], but the trainers did an awesome job. Right now, we've got to get two wins going into the bye and go from there."

Our View:Romo thought he was going to be at least able to serve as the back-up last week against St. Louis but in pregame warm-ups he was not able to take snaps or make quick throws.
October 20, 2008
Coach Wade Phillips stated that Tony Romo's (fractured pinkie) playing status for Week 8 could potentially be a game-time decision, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:Phillips believed Romo could have played against St. Louis, but didn't feel he would be effective. He was initially believed to miss 4-5 weeks, and the Cowboys are seemingly in desperation mode after losing two straight games and falling to third place in the highly competitive NFC East.
October 19, 2008
Tony Romo made the decision on his own to not play against the Rams, according to the Star-Telegram. "He actually made that decision for us which is how it should have been," owner Jerry Jones said. "He didn't feel like he could help us after his warm-ups." Jones also said, Romo had problems while working out before the game during individual and team drills. The Cowboys are even saying if something did happen to Johnson, the Cowboys were likely going to go with third quarterback Brooks Bollinger over Romo.

Our View:It will be interesting to see how much Romo will practice throughout the week and if the Cowboys will try everything they can to get him back. It might not be the best decision in the long run to rush Romo back.
October 19, 2008
Tony Romo will be the No. 2 quarterback for the Cowboys in their game against the Rams, according to the NFL Network.

Our View:It was thought that Romo (broken pinkie) may serve as the No. 3 QB behind Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger, but it looks like he'll get the call should Johnson go down.
October 19, 2008
Tony Romo (fractured pinkie) will be active today against St. Louis and will serve as the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:This is encouraging news for Romo and his fantasy owners, even though he will miss today's favorable match-up against the Rams' 25th ranked pass defense.
October 17, 2008
The Dallas Morning News reports that Tony Romo did not participate in practice on Friday. Coach Wade Phillips indicated Brad Johnson would likely be the starter. However, earlier in the day Jerry Jones said it is very likely that Tony Romo will play on Sunday, to which Phillips responded, "Whatever Jerry says, I'm going with."

Our View:The saga continues. Consider both Romo and Johnson risky starts this week as neither seems to be guaranteed snaps.
October 17, 2008
The Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said it is very likely that Tony Romo will play on Sunday. Moments later, coach Wade Phillips said in his news conference that a decision still hasn't been made. When informed of Jones' comments, he said: "Whatever Jerry says, I'm going with." Romo worked some with the first team during Thursday's practice.

Our View:There is a chance that further injury to the hand could cause season-ending surgery for the star quarterback. Romo leads NFL quarterbacks in fumbles this season and a taped up throwing hand probably won't help.
October 17, 2008
The Dallas Morning News reports that Tony Romo took some first team snaps at practice on Thursday. Coach Wade Phillips has hinted at his status being a game-time decision for Sunday's contest in St. Louis.

Our View:Although Romo is boldly hinting at starting this weekend, he remains a risky play for fantasy owners. Even if he does play, he will not be 100 percent. Still, the Rams' secondary is terrible and with the new arrival of Roy Williams, Romo is tempting. As of now, don't count on him.
October 16, 2008
There is a chance that Tony Romo will play Week 7, and Dallas head coach Wade Phillips said he will make up his mind before Sunday, but would not announce his decision until just before game-time, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I'm not telling anybody," Phillips said.

Our View:Doesn't he know fantasy players have to set their lineups and need to know as soon as possible? Even if Romo does play, there is no telling how long he may last with the injured pinkie.
October 16, 2008
Owner Jerry Jones called Tony Romo's chances of playing against the Rams this Sunday "promising" according to the Dallas Morning News. Tight end Jason Witten and right guard Leonard "Bigg" Davis said they're preparing as if Brad Johnson will start but know Romo will try to talk his way onto the field. Romo returned to practice on Thursday. Johnson took the reps with the starters during the media access portion of practice. The limited snaps that Romo got were all out of the shotgun. It appeared that more of Romo's passes fluttered than normal.

Our View:Romo wants to play but he has also been warned of the danger of furthering the injury which would possibly keep him out for the season. At this point, he is an unreliable start for this weekend. The addition of Roy Williams figures to make him even more dangerous than he already was.
October 16, 2008
NFL.com reports that Tony Romo has been told that if he plays, and if he aggravates his pinkie injury, it could become a displaced fracture. And if his pinkie becomes a displaced fracture, then the 4- to 5-week time frame which Romo is expected to miss would become more prolonged. With a displaced fracture, Romo would face season-ending surgery.

Our View:Romo wants to play but there is certainly some risk tied to that venture. At this point, he is an unreliable play for this weekend. The addition of Roy Williams figures to make him even more dangerous than he already was.
October 15, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Tony Romo has apparently told the Cowboys that he is willing to play through his broken pinkie finger, according to ESPN. Romo did not practice on Wednesday though he did throw the ball with "good velocity" on the side.

Our View:The big concern with Romo is what happens if he takes a hit to the hand that worsens the injury and causes him to miss more than the four weeks that are currently on the table. Unless Romo returns to full practice on Thursday and Friday we would have a hard time believing he will be on the field this weekend against the Rams.
October 15, 2008
Tony Romo threw a little bit indoors today, but didn't actually practice, and he is still expected to miss 4-5 weeks of action due to his broken right pinkie, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Quarterback coach Wade Wilson said the biggest concern with Romo is doing further damage to his finger. Brad Johnson will start at quarterback for Dallas this weekend in a favorable match-up against the Rams.
October 15, 2008
Wade Phillips indicated that Tony Romo will throw in practice today and his status could be re-evaluated, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:That raises the possibility that he could be back sooner than the 4-5 week timetable, but it remains to be seen how he will fare today. Gridiron warrior Brett Favre told Romo that he should do everything possible to try to play through his broken pinkie injury. We will keep you posted on the young gunslinger's progress.
October 14, 2008
Brett Favre told ESPN that he called Tony Romo and told him he should do everything possible to try to play through his broken pinkie injury. "The only thing I said was, it's worth trying [to play] if you can deal with the pain and can function good enough with a splint,'' Favre said. "If not, don't try.'' Favre added that he told Romo he played though the agonizing pain of a fractured thumb to keep his consecutive games streak alive.

Our View:Romo's injury will not require surgery but he is expected to miss four weeks. It's not clear if this pep talk from Favre will help speed up that timetable.
October 13, 2008
Tony Romo will miss four weeks with a broken right pinkie, according to ESPN's Michael Smith.

Our View:It was originally reported as a sprain, but obviously the damage was much worse. Veteran Brad Johnson will fill in while Romo is out.
October 12, 2008
Quarterback Tony Romo sprained his right pinkie finger during the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals, the Dallas Morning News notes.

Our View:Oh! Gosh, do you think he'll be okay?! We're joking, of course. We'll update Romo's status once more is known, but we doubt this ailment will hold him back in Week 7.
October 12, 2008
Quarterback Tony Romo completed 24-of-39 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals.

Our View:Romo didn't seem to play as well as those numbers would indicate. He was hit often and spent a lot of time checking down to Marion Barber. But, hey, fantasy owners are obviously pleased with the digits.
October 5, 2008
Tony Romo only threw for 176 yards in the Caowboys' 31-22 win over the Bengals but did throw three touchdown passes.

Our View:Romo struggled in the first half against the Bengals but connected with TO for a 57 yard TD reception. Also in the win, Romo threw his fifth interception and has thrown an INT in every game this year.
September 28, 2008
Romo completed 28-of-47 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort on Sunday. He also threw one pick.

Our View:Romo has now thrown one interception in every game this season, but most fantasy owners will take the trade off since he has now thrown for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns.
September 21, 2008
Tony Romo used a big second half to produce a decent stat line on Sunday night. He went 17-for-30 with 260 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

Our View:At half, the quarterback had just 75 yards and the interception. He was unable to utilize his best receiver, Terrell Owens, most of the night. Owens had just two catches for 17 yards.
September 17, 2008
The Cowboys are yet to allow a sack over the first two games of the season, while helping Tony Romo throw four touchdown passes with a 113.1 efficiency rating. Baltimore is the only other unit still yet to surrender a sack.

Our View:The Cowboys line will be tested in Week 3 against Aaron Kampman and the Packers' defense.
September 15, 2008
Tony Romo completed 21-of-30 passes for 312 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in Monday's win over the Eagles. He also fumbled in his own end zone, leading to an Eagles score.

Our View:Romo made a couple obvious miscues in the first half, but he was otherwise his typical brilliant self. That's two straight 300-yard outings for the man who is arguably the No. 1 fantasy quarterback.
September 10, 2008
During Week 1, Tony Romo was hit in the chin, which required 13 stitches. On Wednesday, Romo took off the bandage and the stitches were barley visible. Romo said that everything is fine, and he is ready for the Eagles, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Romo started this season right where he left off last season, throwing for over 300 yards and a score. You really do not need our advice on Romo.
September 10, 2008
Apparently, pop princess Jessica Simpson, girlfriend of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, has thrown down the gauntlet to the Eagles, saying in her appearance on Good Morning America Tuesday, "We're gonna kick your butts, too," according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:We weren't aware Jessica was a member of the Cowboys, but if she is, her fantasy value is very low. No doubt the members of the Eagles will have a little to say to Romo on the field when the two teams collide.
September 7, 2008
Tony Romo needed 13 stitches to close the gash on his chin, this according to the Dallas Morning News. The quarterback injured his left middle finger in the game, too, but X-rays were negative.

Our View:The report noted that Cleveland linebacker Willie McGinest hit Romo in the chin.
September 7, 2008
Tony Romo completed 24-of-32 passes for 320 yards and one touchdown on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland. Dallas' offense dominated the game, the Cleveland defense and the clock.

Our View:Romo was also picked off once. It came on a nonchalent play in the Browns' redzone when the Cowboys were up by two-plus touchdowns and the Boyz quarterback got lazy on his pass to Terrell Owens.
August 22, 2008
Tony Romo threw the ball well, and despite his interception, he did complete 15-of-19 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown to help lead Dallas over the Texans by the score of 23-22.

Our View:Romo is the third or fourth ranked QB on most fantasy boards, and with the potential knee problems Peyton Manning is going through, he could be as high as second.
July 10, 2008
The focus at this time of year is clearly on the arrival of training camp, but recent weeks have put more than a few headlines on other topics, namely golf, when it comes to Dallas quarterback Tony Romo, rumored to be considering a moonlighting effort that would push the talented passer towards a career on the links after football.

Our View:Romo will appear at an annual charity event in Tahoe this weekend, paired with noneother than the great Michael Jordan. This comes off an amazing performance as part of the celebrity golf outing held in support of a Golf Channel reality show, carding a score of 84 at the same course, Torrey Pines, played by the PGA professionals at the US Open. Romo lapped the field, beating 2nd-place Justin Timberlake by 14 strokes and easily topping the expected winning score put forth by PGA members surveyed on the challenge. That has some wondering if Romo could consider a move to the links as his football days wind down.
July 9, 2008
Jean-Jacques Taylor, who writes the Inside the Dallas Cowboys report for the Dallas News, suggests that this will be Wade Phillips' last season in Dallas. Taylor notes that while it isn't a make-or-break season for Phillips, he believes the head coach will either take Tony Romo and a loaded offense and win the Super Bowl, or the Cowboys will fall short of their goal and Jerry Jones will promote Jason Garrett to the top position.

Our View:If it's possible, Taylor says that Jones is ready to commit long-term to the Cowboys' offensive coordinator before he's hired away.
June 12, 2008
Because of his success – two Pro Bowl trips, team records for yards and touchdown passes in a season – it's easy to forget that quarterback Tony Romo has made only 26 career starts. With such a short body of work, there is room for Romo to grow, and he has approached the off-season looking for ways to improve, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has worked with Romo on his posture, which not only allows him to have better vision but also keeps him in position to throw more quickly. And even improvisation is practiced, with Romo performing drills that have him throwing on the move to the left and right, changing his arm angle to simulate throwing around, over or under a defender.
June 5, 2008
Tony Romo had his left hand cut after colliding with a defender and getting stepped on, and gave the team a brief scare, according to the Dallas Morning News. Romo was examined by head athletic trainer Jim Maurer before taking some snaps from Andre Gurode.

Our View:He returned to practice with his ring and middle fingers taped, and the injury reportedly did not compromise his play.
May 14, 2008
Urgent news! Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have broken up. Yes, the dream is over, the Dallas Morning News confirms.

Our View:This frees up Romo to find another blonde star this November. Our money is on Kate Bosworth.
May 7, 2008
Dallas QB Tony Romo recorded a score of 75 in today's U.S. Open local qualifier (that's golf) and failed to make the cut, according to the Dallas Star-Telegram.

Our View:Romo was one of 107 golfers vying to advance to a sectional qualifier, the cutoff for qualification coming in at 71. Romo reports he had hoped to move forward, but the onset of the Cowboys' minicamp cut into his practice time. "I found a good rhythm on the backside, but it just took too long to get started," said Romo. Romo will compete in the Celebrity Long Drive competition at Trophy Club Country Club later this week and is also scheduled to play at the Colonial Pro Am on May 21st.
May 6, 2008
Dallas/Ft. Worth CBS 11 Sports has learned that the Dallas Cowboys training camp will be featured once again as part of the NFL films series "Hard Knocks." The show, which will be aired nationally on HBO this summer, documents the day to day process of training camp in the NFL. This will mark the second time the Cowboys will be featured on the show.

Our View:The Cowboys will open training camp in Oxnard, California in late July.
May 2, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys didn’t add a quarterback to the roster during the NFL draft, but owner Jerry Jones hinted the organization will look at some of the veteran options on the market, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The Cowboys are looking for a veteran to plug in behind Tony Romo and Brad Johnson. Some of the players under consideration include Tim Rattay, Tim Hasselbeck and Kelly Holcomb.

Jessica Simpson’s mother claims her daughter has secretly married, according to the Arizona Republic. As Simpson and her mother Tina were leaving Chili's restaurant in Los Angeles earlier this week, Tina revealed that her 27-year-old daughter has secretly wed. Asked if Simpson was planning to marry football star Tony Romo, whom she had been dating since last November, Tina laughed and responded to the inquiry, "Jessica is already married to Tony. What are you talking about?" Please say it ain’t so Tony! This sounds like a joke or a very bad publicity stunt to us.
February 10, 2008
Teammates Terrell Owens and Tony Romo helped spark the NFC to a 42-30 comeback win over the AFC Sunday. Romo finished the game 9-for-16 for 87 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
