Terrence Holt's contract has been terminated by the Bears, according to the Associated Press. The Bears also promoted defensive end Ervin Baldwin from the practice squad.

Our View:Holt was added to provide depth for a banged up Bears' secondary, but he never actually saw any action.

The Bears released safety Terrence Holt on Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Our View:Holt was an extra body while the Bears were dealing with injuries. This doesn't affect fantasy leagues.

Terrence Holt has been signed by the Bears, according to the Bears' official team website. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View:The Bears needed depth in the secondary after losing Zackary Bowman to a season-ending biceps injury. Holt has struggled as a starter during his time with Detroit and Arizona, and does not merit attention in standard-sized IDP leagues.
