Along with tight end Ben Watson, the Patriots inactives for Week 1 are wide receiver Sam Aiken, linebacker Shawn Crable, offensive tackle Wesley Britt, offensive lineman Dan Connolly, wide receiver C.J. Jones, defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith, and quarterback Kevin O'Connell.

Our View:Move along. Nothing to see here. Watson was the interesting news.

Wide receiver and kick receiver Sam Aiken left tonight's game with an injury and will not return, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View:Aiken was trying to make the team as a backup wide receiver and held little fantasy value.
August 4, 2008
Sam Aiken is aiming for the fourth or fifth roster spot at wide receiver, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:He isn't going to make much of an impact if he nails down one of the aforementioned spots at receiver, while fighting for Tom Brady's attention behind Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Chad Jackson. He would hold most of his value on special teams.

The Patriots agreed to a contract with at least one wide receiver on Monday. Sam Aiken, formerly of the Bills, has consented to an undisclosed deal, the Boston Globe reports.
