Tom Brady believes that Sam Aiken is becoming New England's clear number three receiver, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:"Our third receiver position on offense is very important, and Sam is really stepping up and doing a great job in there," were Brady's exact words. After missing Weeks 10 & 11 with injury, Aiken returned to the lineup last Monday and caught seven balls for 90 yards.

Sam Aiken had a nice receiving night for the Patriots Monday night in their loss to the Saints. Aiken made seven catches for 90 yards in the contest.

Our View:Aiken was the most reliable receiver for Tom Brady tonight, as the Saints' defense found a way to shut down Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Aiken isn't a great fantasy option, so don't expect many more games with this production.

Sam Aiken's (hip) injury status should be updated sometime in the next day or two, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:With Julian Edelman set to return from his broken arm, it looks like Aiken's time as the Pats' number three receiver was a short lived one. He isn't worth owning as a WR3.

Sam Aiken injured his hip during tonight's game at Indianapolis, according to the Patriots' official twitter page.

Our View:Aiken's return is questionable. He does not contribute enough as a backup receiver to be missed in fantasy leagues.

ESPNBoston.com is reporting that the Patriots have signed wide receiver Sam Aiken to a two-year contract extension. The new deal will keep him with the team through the 2011 season.

Our View:Aiken is a nice special teams player for the Pats, and he has also managed to see some time on offense this season, making five catches for 56 yards this season. He could see more time offensively this season, but he is a long way from having fantasy value.
