As expected, wide receiver Anquan Boldin and linebacker Gerald Hayes are both out for the Cardinals on Saturday with ankle injuries, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:The Cardinals have been planning on being without both players all week, and despite Boldin's considerable skill, his absence likely won't be a major factor on Saturday.

It would "quasi-miraculous" if Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) was able to play on Saturday against the Saints, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora (via Pro Football Talk).

Our View:The Cardinals put up 51 points on a much better defense than New Orleans' last weekend, so Boldin's likely absence is far from a death knell for Arizona. If he is active, expect him to play a very limited number of snaps.

Anquan Boldin (ankle) managed to be a limited participant in Cardinals practice on Friday, according to the team.

Our View:That's a step up for Arizona's star receiver, as he had yet to take the field this week. Boldin has played through many injuries in his career, and with tomorrow obviously being the most important game of Arizona's season, odds are, he'll be active. Of course, he was very ineffective when he played through pain earlier this season, so don't expect him to be much of a factor if he does go. Early Doucet and Steve Breaston will continue to be Kurt Warner's most frequent targets when he can't thread the ball to Larry Fitzgerald.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cardinals are not expecting wideout Anquan Boldin (ankle) to play against the Saints on Saturday.

Our View:Schefter says the team has not "fully abandoned" hope that he may play, but is not counting on it. If that ends up being the case, look for Early Doucet and Steve Breaston to again step up and be big time targets for Kurt Warner this weekend.

Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) missed practice yet again on Thursday, according to Arizona's official site.

Our View:The fact that Boldin sat last week's game and failed to practice at all this week does not bode well for his chances to suit up on Saturday against the Saints. He'll test things out on the field in pre-game warmups and be a game-time decision with Steve Breaston and Early Doucet ready to step up and fill his void if he sits.

Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) continued to be held out of practice on Wednesday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:With Arizona's game coming up on Saturday, the Cardinals only have one major practice left before their showdown against the Saints. Boldin has said that he's been feeling a lot better than he did last week, though he may have to take the field tomorrow if he wishes to play a significant role (and at all) against New Orleans.

Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) did not practice on Tuesday, though he did say that he's feeling a lot better than he did last week and is optimistic that he'll be able to play against the Saints on Saturday, according to the team's official site.

Our View:We'll certainly know more as the week progresses, though it's nice to hear that he's optimistic. The way Kurt Warner was clicking with his receivers against Green Bay, you'd have to expect big things from Boldin if he's able to suit up and play.

Confirming what seemed like a forgone conclusion the past few days, Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) is indeed inactive against the Packers today, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Our View:Boldin is one of the toughest players in the league, but his knee was apparently just too bothersome to play on. Steve Breaston will step into Boldin's role as Arizona's No. 2 receiver, while Early Doucet will slide into the No. 3 spot.
January 10, 2010
Anquan Boldin's left knee continues to be quite bothersome, not to mention that he still has a sore ankle, and the Cardinals do not expect to have him available against the Packers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View:The reports on Boldin have been discouraging this entire week, and nothing has changed as the game approaches today. Barring an unexpected development, it looks like Boldin will be watching from the sidelines, with Steve Breaston assuming his role as the team's No. 2 receiver opposite Larry Fitzgerald.

Jason LaCanfora of NFL.com stated that Anquan Boldin is "highly unlikely" to play in Sunday's opening round playoff game against Green Bay.

Our View:The star receiver is listed as questionable with a sprained ankle, as well as a sprained ligament in his left knee. Boldin was unable to practice this week, and is supposed to be a game-time decision.
January 8, 2010
As expected, Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) missed practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Greg Bedard.

Our View:Boldin is about as tough as they come in the NFL, but with each passing day, it seems more and more unlikely that he'll be able to suit up against the Packers. Look for him to be a game-time decision.
January 7, 2010
Anquan Boldin is expected to be a game-time call for Sunday's playoff match-up against Green Bay, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:The star receiver is dealing with a sprained knee and ankle. The injury is getting better, and Boldin is hopeful of playing though. Steve Breaston would be the top candidate to replace him at receiver if needed.
January 7, 2010
Anquan Boldin (ankle, knee) did a "rehab workout" on Thursday, and said he felt better than he did on Wednesday, according to Tom Pelissero of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Our View:He also said his ankle injury is a bigger concern than his knee one. Boldin looks very iffy for this weekend, but it's hard to count him out considering how many injuries he has played through in his career. Consider him a game-time decision.
January 6, 2010
According to azcardinals.com, Anquan Boldin did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.

Our View:Boldin is apparently still limping, but he has shed the crutches. No word on whether he's play in the Wild Card game against the Packers, but the elite wideout is a gamer and this is a do or die contest for the Cards. If we had to venture a guess, it'd be that Boldin would find a way to get on the field.
January 6, 2010
As of Wednesday, Anquan Boldin (ankle) was still walking with a limp, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:The limp was characterized as "slight," but it's still a limp nonetheless. The good news, however, is that at least he is no longer on crutches. While at the moment he seems unlikely to play on Sunday, Boldin has proven time and again that he is one of the toughest players in the league, and it's a better than 50-50 chance that he will play on Sunday.
January 4, 2010
Updating an earlier report, the Cardinals are not optimistic that Anquan Boldin will be able to play in this weekend's playoff game against Green Bay, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Boldin is dealing with an ankle injury, and was sore this morning. He has played hurt this season, so don't rule him out this early in the week though.
January 4, 2010
Anquan Boldin will have an MRI on both his injured knee and ankle on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Our View:He "woke up sore" on Monday. Boldin has played at far less than 100 percent before, and while he hasn't always been effective playing hurt, it's very hard to imagine him sitting out next weekend against Green Bay.
January 3, 2010
Anquan Boldin left Sunday's game against the Packers with a left leg injury. He was undercut while going over the middle.

Our View:Boldin is a bit injury prone so we doubt he makes it back to play in this game and it's possible he will be unavailable for Round 1 of the playoffs against the Packers.
