Anquan Boldin (ankle) returned to practice on Friday after sitting out on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:This throws a wrench in the theory that he will not play for sure this weekend. That being said, he was ineffective playing hurt last weekend, and you would likely be better off just benching him if you have any sort of an alternative.

Anquan Boldin did not practice again on Thursday, according to the Twitter page of NFL writer Adam Caplan. Boldin is expected to miss this week's game due to his ankle injury.

Our View:Boldin knows that his ankle isn't likely to be 100 percent all year, but he feels like taking a week off could make a big difference. We will continue to monitor his situation, but Boldin owners need to have another option ready to go this week.

The Arizona Republic reports that Anquan Boldin likely won't play in Week 9.

Our View:Boldin himself admitted that his bum ankle won't get any better unless he gets some significant rest. With the Cardinals having already used up their bye week, he won't get said rest unless he sits out. And better to have him do it sooner than later. He left in the third quarter of last Sunday's game and it was clearly evident that the ankle was bothering him and affecting his performance. He'll likely lobby to play this week, but don't expect coach Ken Whisenhunt to let that happen. Boldin owners will want to search the waiver wire for a temporary replacement.

Anquan Boldin could very well miss Week 9 after aggravating his ankle sprain in the Cardinals loss to the Panthers on Sunday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:He left the game in the third quarter and did not return. For now, consider him doubtful for this weekend against the Bears, though be sure to check for updates.
