Travis Henry was active for the game but did not play because of his sprained left foot. McGahee wasn't spectacular, but his performance was certainly good enough to create a legitimate running back controversy in Buffalo for the first time.

While the Bills haven't set out a specific plan for how to use Willis McGahee behind starter Travis Henry today, McGahee should get work at least on third downs, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. "There is no designed number of carries for either one," coach Mike Mularkey said. "Travis is the starting running back. If he needs a blow, Willis is there in the wings and hopefully there won't be a dropoff in the level of speed and physical play. At the same time, on third downs, we're going to try and get Willis in there. Willis is going to be in there enough that he'll get plenty of reps and be a threat for us."

Willis McGahee took part in yesterday's scrimmage against the Browns and took some hits for the first time since wrecking his knee in the Fiesta Bowl in January of 2003, according to the Buffalo News. "Today was a good day," McGahee said. "They were coming after me, and it felt good to get hit for the first time. I was a little nervous on the first series, but after the second series when I kind of got into a rhythm, everything went good for me."
