Darian Barnes has emerged as the favorite to start at fullback, according to buffalobills.com. "He is a physical, more of a straight-line, thumper fullback which is more in line with what we're looking for," said Bills running backs coach Eric Studesville.

Our View:Barnes' value will be as a lead blocker for Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. The report states that he has the ability to catch the ball, but purely as a dump-off option, so he should not be considered a useful fantasy prospect.

The Jets signed Darian Barnes to a contract on Wednesday, according to Newsday. Terms were not released. Barnes has been used almost exclusively as a blocker in his five NFL seasons.
