The Texans signed veteran quarterback Craig Nall to back up Sage Rosenfels this week. Starter Matt Schaub is not expected to play because of a concussion suffered last week. “[The offense] is pretty familiar after being with [Texans assistant Mike Sherman] for four years in Green Bay,” Nall told the Houston Chronicle. “It doesn’t seem much different, especially in the passing game. Overall as a system, I hope I can pick it up very quick, and I’m confident I will.”

The Bills re-signed quarterback Craig Nall on Monday, three weeks after releasing him at the end of the preseason. According to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, Nall was given a one-year deal and will serve as the backup to rookie Trent Edwards until J.P. Losman recovers from his sprained MCL.

Craig Nall has played sparingly thus far in two exhibition games and could be losing his spot as J.P. Losman's top backup. "I don't really understand what's going on, but we'll see," Nall told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle when asked his thoughts about why he didn't play during the Bills' second preseason game. "I think my confidence is much higher this year… I understand our offense and I'm able to go out there with confidence and know what I'm doing. I just need the opportunity to show it."

Craig Nall looked good enough this weekend that if he performs well again in the preseason finale, he likely will lock up the No. 2 quarterback job when the regular-season begins, according to the Buffalo News. J.P. Losman appears set as the starter, while Kelly Holcomb likely has fallen to No. 3.
