Along with a broken right leg, Rams tight end Randy McMichael has torn ligaments in the leg, which is why he will be out for the season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Had McMichael simply had a broken leg, there would have been a chance for him to play sometime later this season. Joe Klopfenstein will take McMichael's place in the starting lineup.

Randy McMichael has been placed on the season-ending IR, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg September 28 against the Bills. Tight end Daniel Fells takes McMichael’s place on the roster.

Our View:Joe Klopfenstein replaces him in the starting lineup at tight end. This is unfortunate for McMichael as he ranked third on the club in receptions (11) prior to going down, and was excited to work in coordinatoe Al Saunders' offense.

Coach Jim Haslett stated that the team is considering placing Randy McMichael on season-ending IR due to his broken tibia, according to the Belleville News-Democrat. Haslett said, "It’ll be a minimum of eight weeks, hopefully not longer. Normally, that’s six-week injury, but he has a couple of other things. We want to make sure we don’t put him on the field too early. It could be something that we can wait on, or we could put him on IR. I want to talk to Randy first to see how he feels."

Our View:Joe Klopfenstein was working in McMichael’s spot with the starting offense in practice. Klopfenstein started all 16 games with the Rams as a rookie in 2006, and Haslett is expecting him to step up. He normally wouldn't garner fantasy interest, but he does have offensive coordinator Al Saunders directing the offense, who loves to utilize the tight end in the passing game.

Randy McMichael has a broken tibia and will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It was initially believed to be an ankle injury.

Our View:McMichael was expected to flourish under new offensive coordinator Al Saunders, but the Rams' aerial attack failed to take flight over the first four weeks, and the talented tight end was limited to 11 catches for 139 yards. Anthony Becht and Joe Klopfenstein will handle the reps at tight end, but both are best suited as blockers and do not merit fantasy attention.

Randy McMichael was seen sporting a walking boot and crutches after injuring his ankle during Sunday's loss to Buffalo, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:He injured the ankle twice in the game, and the source believed the second time looked serious. The Rams have a bye in Week 5, giving McMichael more time to recover. He is yet to score a touchdown this season.
