ESPN.com reports Cliff Russell was released from the hospital following Sunday's game and flew back to Denver with the team. He left the game on a stretcher due to a sprained neck.

Our View:This is very good news, though there is no additional word on his playing status.

Broncos kick returner/wide receiver Cliff Russell was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of the game against Kansas City.

Our View:Russell, who is primarily a special teams player, waved to the crowd as he was removed from the field on a stretcher. No additional details are currently available.

Cliff Russell was brought back by Denver to fill the roster spot opened by the Keary Colbert trade to Seattle, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:The Broncos' aerial attack is flying high right now, but Russell's fantasy stock shall remain low while working at the bottom of the depth chart at receiver.
August 18, 2008
Cliff Russell has been running ahead of Keary Colbert and Samie Parker in practice of late, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:That Russell is running as a starter right now should be viewed more as negative towards Colbert and Parker than a positive for a 29-year-old with five career catches. None of the receivers will make any sort of fantasy impact.
