The Jets have fined tight end Chris Baker $3,000 for missing an injury-treatment session at last week's mandatory minicamp, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:Baker intends to appeal, but this is just another stop for drama in the saga that is Chris Baker and the Jets. Baker wants out, the Jets want to trade him, and nothing has been done. He asserts he will be missing any and all team activities until a trade is completed or he is released.

Rich Cimini of the NY Daily News believes there is a good chance the Jets will try to trade disgruntled tight end Chris Baker.

Our View:The Jets added Dustin Keller via the draft and veteran Bubba Franks via free agency and believe Jason Pociask is a fine No. 3 tight end, which means Baker, who has complained about his contract situation, could be expendable.

Chris Baker attended the Jets' mandatory mini-camp on Thursday, as expected, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:He is still upset with his contract situation, and is only in attendance to avoid a $8,500 fine. He is expected to talk to the media later today, and the source states that he isn't going to be kind to the team with his comments.

Chris Baker said that he intends to attend the Jets' mandatory minicamp tomorrow, according to the NY Post. Baker will attend but is still displeased with his contract, which he believes is below-market of what he is worth.

Our View:Baker is expected to remain vocal about his displeasure with his contract, and could prove to be a team distraction. The team isn't likely to give in to his demands, as they added Bubba Franks, and drafted Dustin Keller for more depth and insurance.

Even though New York Jets tight end Chris Baker has been a no-show at organized team activities the team is informing him of all developments in the playbook in order for him to hit the ground running when he does report, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Baker, who is boycotting the offseason program due to contract issues, has no leverage in this situation after the organization signed free agent Bubba Franks and drafted Dustin Keller. There’s little chance of the Jets caving in to Baker’s demands, and they fully expect him to be in uniform come training camp.
