Deion Branch, who has been dealing with a heel ailment, was able to fully practice Friday, according to the Seahawks' official website.

Our View:Branch will likely start in Week 12, but has a tough match-up against the Redskins' 10th ranked pass defense.
November 21, 2008
The Tacoma News Tribune reports that wide receiver Deion Branch figures to be let go by the Seahawks following the season.

Our View:Branch has not lived up to expectations since being signed following his Super Bowl MVP with the Patriots. Injuries have limited him to two games and seven catches this season. However, he is healthy now and led the team with four grabs last week.
November 16, 2008
Deion Branch led the Seahawks receivers in catches and yards in his return to action Sunday, grabbing four balls for 54 yards in the loss to Arizona.

Our View:Well, it wasn't a big day, but it is encouraging that Deion led the way for the 'Hawks, and even more encouraging that he didn't limp off the field at some point.
November 14, 2008
Deion Branch is set to start on Sunday against the Cardinals, according to the Associated Press. He has not played a full game since January.

Our View:Branch is only a fantasy option for the truly desperate, as there's no telling what the Seahawks will actually get out of him on Sunday.
November 12, 2008
Deion Branch (heel) returned to practice on Wednesday, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. Branch said after practice that this is the best he felt since he's been in Seattle. He'll practice this week, and if cleared by the training staff he'll play on Sunday.

Our View:Branch has appeared in only one game this season and caught three passes for 31 yards. He returns at the same time as Matt Hasselbeck and could have some value throughout the fantasy playoffs.
November 10, 2008
Deion Branch, who is recovering from reconstructive knee surgery and a bruised heel, should be ready to return to the gridiron in Week 11 against the Cardinals, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:He likely could have played Sunday, but coach Mike Holmgren opted to hold him out another week. Branch could be rusty in his first game back, and would be a risky fantasy option against a hard-hitting Cardinals' secondary.
November 7, 2008
Deion Branch is participating with the first-team offense in today's practice, and he has a shot to return to the gridiron this weekend at Miami, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Branch has only played in one game this season while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery and a bruised heel. Branch could be rusty if cleared to play, but would have a favorable match-up against the Dolphins' 26th ranked pass defense.
November 6, 2008
Deion Branch did not practice on Thursday, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:Branch has only been able to play in one game so far this season, and has little fantasy value because of this fact.
November 5, 2008
Deion Branch has been on the sideline for all but one game in 2008 and finally might be getting closer to returning. The AP is reporting that Branch might try and test is heel this week in practice. But as of Wednesday, he was yet to get on the field.

Our View:If Branch can't get back onto the field this week for practice he will once again be sidelined.
November 3, 2008
The Seattle Timesreports that wide receiver Deion Branch has not done anything other than rehabilitation work for the past two weeks, but he will have his injured heel tested this week. If he can workout on the heel without experiencing swelling and soreness the next day, he will be on course to return to practice this week.

Our View:Until Matt Hasselbeck comes back to quarterback the offense in Seattle, none of their wide receivers have much value. Branch still seems extremely questionable for Week 10.
October 29, 2008
Wide receiver Deion Branch will miss the Seahawks Week 9 game due to an injured heel, according to SI.com.

Our View:Branch has been available for only one game this year. The receiver has been battling injuries since the preseason and it hasn't gotten any better in the regular season.
October 27, 2008
Deion Branch is unlikely to play in Week 9 because of his injured heel, according to The Seattle Times.

Our View:We keep waiting for this guy to offer anything on the field, but up until this point we have been greatly disappointed. If you are still holding on to Branch you have more faith in him than we do.
October 24, 2008
Deion Branch will be inactive for Week 8 due to continuing issues with his heel, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:The swelling in his ankle has gone down, but it is still too painful for him to run effectively on. The team is still hopeful that he will be able to contribute in Week 9.
October 23, 2008
The Seattle Times reports that Deion Branch's heel kept him out of practice again on Thursday. He has practiced since playing in New York at the beginning of October.

Our View:Branch has managed just one start this season and managed to catch three passes for 31 yards. If he can get himself healthy and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck returns, Branch could still have some fantasy impact this season.
October 21, 2008
Deion Branch could return this weekend following his bout with an injured heel, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:This is encouraging news, but he still isn't a lock to return. Matt Hasselbeck's status remains in question as well, meaning Branch is best-suited to remain on the bench in fantasy leagues to be safe, despite a favorable match-up against the 49ers.
October 17, 2008
Deion Branch did not practice on Friday because of his injured heal, but he will still travel with the team to Tampa Bay, according to The Seattle Times.

Our View:Branch is listed as doubtful to play, so barring some extremely improbable return to health he seems a lock to be wearing a ball cap on the sidelines in Week 7.
October 16, 2008
The News Tribune reports that wideout Deion Branch missed two straight practices and is very unlikely to play against the Bucs on Sunday night, meaning that Keary Colbert is going to have an increased role, and perhaps Billy McMullen.

October 15, 2008
Coach Mike Holmgren noted that he isn't sure if Deion Branch will be ready to play this weekend against Tampa Bay, according to the Seattle Times. Branch did not practice last week after bruising his right heel during the loss to the Giants.

Our View:Bobby Engram would be ready to start in his place if needed, against the Buccaneers' 19th ranked pass defense.
October 14, 2008
Deion Branch was inactive last week due to a bruised right heel, but the Seattle Post-Intelligencer indicates that he could return in Week 7 at Tampa Bay.

October 12, 2008
Deion Branch remains listed as questionable but John Czarnecki of FOX Sports believes he is likely to miss today's game against Green Bay.

October 9, 2008
The Seattle Times reports that Deion Branch did not practice again on Thursday. He is dealing with a heel injury and his status for Week 6 is questionable.

Our View:Branch appears to be a risky play this week against Green Bay. Keep an eye on the injury report, but if he remains questionable, you may want to seek out another option at wideout.
October 6, 2008
Deion Branch's heel injury may or may not allow him to play in Week 6, according to The Seattle Times. While Branch likely wouldn't further injury himself by playing, the injury is extremely painful to play on.

Our View:Branch relies on being able to cut quickly to juke defenders, and if his foot precludes him from doing just that he is highly unlikely to be successful. Monitor his progress this week, but it doesn't sound like you should be counting on him.
October 5, 2008
Head coach Mike Holmgren informs the Seattle Times that wide receiver Deion Branch suffered a right heel injury in Week 5. Branch missed the second half. Holmgren hopes this new ailment won't keep Branch out too long.

Our View:Branch played after suffering the initial injury, so we're under the impression he has a day-to-day-type ailment. We should have a better idea about his Week 6 availability in the coming days.
October 5, 2008
Wide receiver Deion Branch injured his right foot during the Week 5 game against the Giants. He will miss the second half.

Our View:Branch was limping after he dropped a would-be touchdown reception in the first quarter. He did return, but there's no reason for the Seahawks to push it when they are getting beat so badly by the Giants.
October 4, 2008
Deion Branch will start for the Seahawks on Sunday, but coach Mike Holmgren admitted that the wide receiver will probably see limited snaps, according to the Daily Herald. "He says he's feeling good," Holmgren said. "It's just, once the game starts, how many snaps he plays. We'll have to see how that goes."

Our View:You surely have a better fantasy option then Branch this week.
October 3, 2008
Seahawks wideout Deion Branch will start for the team on Sunday as they face off against the New York Giants in Seattle, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:The Giants have held receivers to 198.7 receiving yards per game, the ninth-best mark in the NFL. The fact that it is at home will certainly help Branch, but fantasy owners should not expect him to have a big day right out of the gate.
October 2, 2008
Deion Branch is no longer on the Seahawks' injury report, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:He will provide a boost to the Seahawks' aerial attack but may be rusty in his first game back. He has a tough match-up as well against the defending champion Giants at the Meadowlands.
October 1, 2008

September 29, 2008
Deion Branch participated in practice on Monday and the Seahawks think he will be ready for their Week 5 matchup against the Giants according to the Seattle Times.

September 22, 2008
Deion Branch is expected to return to game action after the team's bye week, according to the The Seattle Times. "The check's in the mail, but until I see it, I'll reserve judgment," HC Mike Holmgren said. "But they're telling me I get them back."

Our View:Branch and Bobby Engram are expected back which means the Seahawks might finally be able to field an actual NFL caliber set of wideouts to give Matt Hasselbeck someone to throw to.
September 15, 2008
Coach Mike Holmgren once again stated on Monday that Deion Branch and Bobby Engram are not expected back this week, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:Branch is coming back from reconstructive knee surgery, and Engram is recovering from a broken bone in his shoulder. Seattle has a great match-up against a vulnerable Rams' secondary in Week 3, but neither receiver will be able to benefit while out of action.
September 12, 2008
Deion Branch practiced in limited capacity this week but remains doubtful on the NFL's injury report. He is recovering from a knee injury.

Our View:Don't count on Branch this weekend but be sure to follow his notes next week as the Seahawks are anxious to get him back in the lineup. He may be available on waivers and could prove to be a shrewd pick up for fantasy owners. Courtney Taylor and Logan Payne will start for the Seahawks this week in Seattle.

He had the surgery to repair the torn ACL on Feb. 7, which means that Sunday is the 7-month anniversary of his surgery, a procedure that typically takes some players a year to recover from. Branch has'nt been ruled out of the Week 1 game in Buffalo, but was limited in practice today and isn't expected to dress.

Our View:Branch is worth drafting if he falls into the late rounds, but should not be expected to post strong numbers.
August 11, 2008
Deion Branch (ACL surgery) will need to practice for at least a week with the team before he will be considered for game action, according to the News Tribune.

Our View:With the injury to Bobby Engram the team might try to push Branch back into action, but even so, it is unknown if Branch will be healthy enough to play by the time Week 1 rolls around.
August 3, 2008
Deion Branch (knee) is progressing well in his comeback and has looked very good in agility drills and running sprints in the first week of practice, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Branch could still miss the start of the regular season, but that might lower his draft day value to the point of being a steal if he could produce as he has in the past in the second half.
July 30, 2008
As expected, Deion Branch has begun Seahawks' camp on the PUP list as he is still recovering from offseason ACL surgery, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:His absence will allow Nate Burleson, Logan Payne and Courtney Taylor a chance to join Bobby Engram on the first-team. Branch is hopeful for Week 1 but we don't expect him to start right off the bat. The competition is to great for the veteran to just walk in and land the gig.
