The Patriots revealed that Reche Caldwell auditioned for the team last Friday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Caldwell was with the Patriots back in 2006 and was the team's leading receiver that year with 61 receptions for 760 yards. He would hold little fantasy value if brought back, namely while fighting for targets with Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Jabar Gaffney.

Reche Caldwell fell short in his bid to make the Rams as he was released on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Fellow receiver Derek Stanley was also cut, along with offensive lineman Dustin Fry, cornerback Darius Vinnett, wide receiver Brandon Williams, and offensive tackle Mark LeVoir. Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski will be let go as well.

Our View:Caldwell failed to prove his worth to the Rams with only three catches for 30 yards in the preseason, and the team is excited about rookies Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton, which made Caldwell expendable.

Reche Caldwell is fighting for a roster spot with Marques Hagans, Brandon Williams, and Derek Stanley, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:There may only be one roster spot left with Torry Holt, Drew Bennett, Donnie Avery, Dante Hall, and Keenan Burton all locked into the top five spots on the depth chart.

Reche Caldwell is in the running for a favorable role with the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Caldwell had three receptions for 30 yards Saturday against the Titans, and coach Scott Linehan said, "He's playing through some aches and pains, just like everybody, but he made a couple of nice plays in the game. It's not surprising. I think Reche's a really good receiver."

Our View:Caldwell could beat out Dane Looker for the fourth spot on the depth chart, and could also see time in the slot if rookie Donnie Avery struggles.

Anger got the upper hand today as the Titans and Rams engaged in a brawl during a joint team practice, according to the Associated Press. St. Louis receiver Reche Caldwell got it started by grabbing Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan in a bear hug, taking him to the ground. The fight escalated a few moments later when, after being blocked to the ground on his rush, Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch took a swing at Rams left tackle Adam Goldberg. The head coaches tried to calm things down. But on the next play, Titans end Sean Conover tangled with St. Louis tackle Mark LeVoir, with Vanden Bosch rushing in to help, without his helmet.

Our View:The Rams are trying to build off a 3-13 season by working against Tennessee, a team that went 10-6 in the AFC South and made the playoffs in 2007. The Titans had the NFL's fifth-stingiest defense in yards allowed in 2007, so they offer a good early test for a Rams offense that was 24th a year ago, averaging 297.5 yards and without contract holdout Steven Jackson. The Titans are pushing themselves defensively to improve as well, and All Pro tackle Albert Haynesworth, who stayed out of the frays, said it's easy for something to happen with Tennessee's aggressive style.
