MLive.com reports that Lions coach Jim Schwartz has been pleased with the play of Maurice Morris throughout OTAs. He views him as a versatile player who can work in the passing game and even return kick.

Our View:Morris won't exactly be splitting carries with the talented Kevin Smith, but he will give the second year back the occasional breather, particularly on third downs. Morris has next to no fantasy value unless you want to handcuff Smith.
February 27, 2009
Maurice Morris has agreed to a three-year deal with the Lions worth $7MM, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Morris should serve as the primary backup behind rising star Kevin Smith, meaning his fantasy value will be limited, barring injuries.

Pro Football Weekly reports that running back Maurice Morris has probably played his final game with the Seahawks.

Our View:Seattle seems set to go with a combination of Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett, unless free agency or, more likely, the draft, changes things. The team apparently does not believe Morris owns the necessarily durability.
December 28, 2008
Maurice Morris had 15 carries for 45 yards and three receptions for 26 yards in Week 17.

Our View:Morris had more than 700 yards from scrimmage for the season, but it remains to be seen whether he will be a No. 1 back going into next season.
December 21, 2008
Maurice Morris saw 29 carries for 119 yards against the Jets in Week 16.

Our View:He did a fine job as the team's workforce in snowy conditions, while Julius Jones didn't even receive a carry.
