Patrick Ramsey was the third quarterback in the game for the Jets in the preseason opener, behind Chad Pennington and rookie Kellen Clemens. It's not clear if this was a one-time thing or if Ramsey is really third on the depth chart.

Chad Pennington already has beaten out Patrick Ramsey for the starting quarterback job for the Jets, according to the Star-Ledger. Apparently Pennington has looked healthy and ready to go early in training camp. Considering Pennington's propensity for injury, Ramsey is bound to get the call at some point this season.

The 'Skins have been seeking a second-round draft pick in exchange for Ramsey, but it's now believed that he could be had for a second-day pick.

The Redskins have granted Patrick Ramsey permission to seek a trading partner, according to the Washington Post. "We're kind of working with (agent) Jimmy Sexton and Patrick," coach Joe Gibbs said. "I think we're just kind of moving ahead, trying to see what opportunities are out there for him and also to evaluate what's best for us. I'm not sure anything will get done. But we are looking and we're letting them also look and talk, so we're just going to see."
