Elite Ravens safety Ed Reed has still not decided whether or not he will return for a ninth NFL season in 2010, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Head coach John Harbaugh expects Ed Reed to return to the Ravens for the 2010 campaign, according to the Baltimore Sun. Harbaugh said, "I believe Ed is going to play next year. If he does not, we will have to have a plan in place to move on. There is no better leader, no better football player, no better guy on our team than Ed Reed. We need him back."

Our View:Reed is 50/50, regarding whether or not he will return or hang up his cleats. The elite free safety has had trouble staying healthy, which will play into his decision to resume his career.

Despite saying otherwise a few weeks ago, elite Ravens safety Ed Reed is unlikely to retire this offseason, according to the National Football Post.

Our View:"Barring an unexpected change," he will play in 2010. That "unexpected change" come come in the form of any of his three chronic injuries (neck, hip and groin) worsening, but it sounds likely that he will be on the field for at least one more season.

The Associated Press confrims that Ravens all-pro safety Ed Reed, age 31, is considering retirement.

Our View:Reed dealt with a smattering of injuries all season long, appearing in just 12 games. His three interceptions were also his fewest since 2005. That being said, he still has $19.7 million and three years remaining on his contract, and was likely just frustrated after Baltimore's loss on Saturday night. He will most likely play in 2010.

The Baltimore Ravens are expecting free safety Ed Reed to play today - not a full game but part of it, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Reading between the lines, it appears that Reed, who has missed the last four games with groin and knee injuries, will be utilized on certain passing situations, as he's the Ravens best ballhawk in the secondary.

Ed Reed is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, according to NFL.com. He has been out since November 29 with a groin injury.

Our View:The Ravens need a win to make it into the playoffs, so don't be surprised if he pushes himself to get one the field. After nine interceptions last season, Reed was held to three in 11 games in 2009.
