Roy Williams does not believe he has lost a step and still has confidence in his skills following his release by the Cowboys, according to the Bengals' official team website. Williams said, "You can still see I have not lost anything, I have not lost a step."

Our View:Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer agrees that Williams is not on the decline, and believes he has been doing a great job adapting to the Bengals' defense. He is showing that he can still cover receivers and tight ends, and will have a good chance to nail down the starting gig at strong safety in training camp. Zimmer previously worked with Williams in Dallas, when he enjoyed the best seasons of his career.

It has been disclosed that Roy Williams signed a one-year deal worth $750,000 with the Bengals, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:Williams will compete with Chinedum Ndukwe for the starting spot at strong safety in training camp. Williams fell out of favor in Dallas, but could benefit from a fresh start in Cincinnati.

Updating an earlier report, Roy Williams has agreed to a deal with the Bengals, according to NFL.com. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:Williams will be reunited with Bengals' defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, as the pair previously worked together in Dallas. Williams had some of his most productive campaigns under the direction of Zimmer, and could benefit from a fresh start in Cincinnati. He will challenge Chinedum Ndukwe for the starting gig at strong safety.

The Bengals are reportedly still interested in safety Roy Williams, according to their official team website.

Our View:Williams is still looking for work after being let go by the Cowboys in March. If Williams did land in Cincinnati, he would push Chinedum Ndukwe for the starting gig at strong safety.
