Antwaan Randle El returned to practice Sunday, for his first real action since having his knee scoped in May, according to the Washington Post. Coach Jim Zorn commented that he was impressed with his speed.

Our View:Speed demon Santana Moss is slated to start, leaving Randle El to battle highly regarded rookies Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly for the other spot.

Washington wide receiver Antwaan Randle El is expected to participate fully in training camp, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Randle El had surgery May 6 to remove floating cartilage in his right knee. He had hoped to recover in time to take part in the final eight workouts that ended yesterday, but his knee did not cooperate. Santana Moss should start at one spot, leaving Randle El to compete with rookies Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly for the other starting role this season.

Antwaan Randle El said his recovery from minor arthroscopic surgery earlier this month is going well and he hopes to begin running shortly, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Santana Moss should start at one spot, so Randle El will battle rookies Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas for the other starting role this season. Randle El racked up 51 receptions for 728 yards and one score over 14 games in 2007, and would seemingly have the edge if healthy, while the aforementioned rookies learn the ropes.

Washington Redskins receiver Antwaan Randle El, with crutches under both arms, said the surgery on his right knee went as expected and that he hopes to return to the field for offseason practices next month, according to ESPN. Randle El said the knee was swollen after minicamp practice Saturday. A MRI found loose cartilage, possibly the residual effects of getting the knee banged in a couple games last season, and he had arthroscopic surgery Monday. "The big thing is get it done now and not have it happen during training camp," Randle El said.

Our View:This doesn’t sound like a serious situation, but anytime surgery is involved strange things can happen. Randle El needs to be 100% healthy for his potential training camp battle with rookie receivers Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly.

The Washington Redskins report WR Antwaan Randle El has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery today and should be fully recovered by the start of training camp, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Coach Jim Zorn reports a recent MRI discovered a "floating body" causing irritation in the knee, leading to the procedure to alleviate the problem. Zorn told reporters the team expects Randle El will need at least three to four weeks to recover, giving more than enough time to prepare for the start of training campin mid-July.
