Player Notes
October 26, 2008
Kicker Shayne Graham hit field goals of 43 and 32 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Texans. He was coming back from a groin injury.

Our View:Graham may not be 100 percent, but he showed he is good enough right now. He has been a very solid fantasy kicker in recent years, but his value is down due to this ailment and the Bengals inept offense.
October 21, 2008
Shayne Graham is ready to resume his role as the Bengals' placekicker following his bout with a groin injury, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The team waived kicker Dave Rayner, who was filling in while Graham was out.

Our View:Graham is a solid professional kicker, but his fantasy value has taken a hit with a lack of a solid quarterback or efficient running game to move the chains and set up a favorable number of scoring chances.
October 19, 2008
QB Carson Palmer (3rd), WR Glenn Holt, K Shane Graham, DB Jamar Fletcher, LB Corey Mays, TE Ben Utecht, DT Orien Harris, DT Jason Shirley.

Our View:Ryan Fitzpatrick will start in place of Carson Palmer, who is the emergency quarterback. Additionally, Dave Rayner will start in place of kicker Shayne Graham.

Kicker Shayne Graham (groin) did not practice on Wednesday, the team's official web site reports.

Our View:Graham missed Week 6 due to his groin injury, and Dave Rayner played in his place. Kickers usually can't fool around with lower-body injuries, and we won't be too surprised if Graham has to sit again this Sunday. We'll know more as the week progresses, though.
October 12, 2008
The Bengals' team website reports Shayne Graham (groin) didn't kick before Sunday's game and has been made inactive. Dave Rayner will be the Bengals' kicker on Sunday.

Our View:This is tough luck for Graham owners, but he didn't figure to be a great fantasy play anyway with Ryan Fitzpatrick starting at quarterback.
October 10, 2008
Shayne Graham missed Friday's practice and remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:The team will try out kickers for kickoff duty, but Graham is still expected to handle field goals. He will be a risky fantasy option, and could potentially be limited to shorter attempts, especially if the weather conditions are less than ideal at the Meadowlands.
October 9, 2008
The Bengals website reports that Shayne Graham was held out of practice on Thursday with a right groin injury.

Our View:His status for Sunday is uncertain and it was not reported when he suffered the injury. However, he did practice on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the injury report to see if the kicker is able to go on Sunday.

Shayne Graham indicated that he would like a new contract before the start of the new season, according to the Dayton Daily News. He said, "I think they want me here. I want to be here, and I don't see any reason why something won't be taken care of. The time frame? I don't know. But I definitely don't want it to be something that's going on during the season."

Our View:His agent (Rob Roche) and the Bengals are negotiating an extension for Graham, who ranks as the NFL's most accurate active kicker heading into 2008.

Shayne Graham and the Cincinnati Bengals are working on a long-term contract extension, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Our View:Graham nailed 91.2% of his kicks last season and is one of the premier players at his position. If he is available in the last round of fantasy drafts, pull the trigger and select him.
