Updating a previous report, ESPN.com states that Chris Simms is still very much the underdog and it would be a "huge upset" if he won the starting job over Kyle Orton.

Our View:The job is as good as Orton's even though Simms has been practicing with the first team offense. Simms would likely only see time in blowouts or if Orton suffered an injury.
May 29, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that Chris Simms worked exclusively with the first team offense on Thursday. Both he and Kyle Orton will continue to get first team reps until a decision is made on who will be the starting quarterback in Denver.

Our View:Simms seems to be the underdog here, but he is getting every chance to win the job. Whoever Denver decides on should have some fantasy value, but probably only as a second quarterback.

Bill Williamson of ESPN reiterated that Chris Simms is the underdog to beat Kyle Orton for the starting gig at quarterback in Denver.

Our View:Orton is considered a leader in the clubhouse, and Simms would only have a shot to start if Orton gets hurt or struggles mightily in training camp and the preseason. Head coach Josh McDaniels has confidence in Orton as well.
April 19, 2009
The Denver Post reports that coach Josh McDaniels called the competition between Chris Simms and Kyle Orton very real at the Broncos minicamp.

Our View:Many expect Orton to win the competition, but it looks as if Simms will get a fair shot. He only threw two passes last season, but he would hold significant fantasy value if he won the job in Denver.
April 3, 2009
Chris Simms will be given a fair shot to compete with the newly acquired Kyle Orton for the starting gig at quarterback in Denver, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:New head coach Josh McDaniels likes Simms, but Orton will be the favorite to win the job.
