Chris Simms completed three-of-13 passes for 13 yards, no scores, and one interception in the Week 10 loss to the Redskins. He played the entire second half.

Our View:Let's give him a break. Simms hasn't taken a meaningful snap in an NFL regular season game since Week 3 of the 2006 campaign. If Kyle Orton's ankle injury lingers, Simms could start in Week 11. Gulp.

Chris Simms has healed quicker than expected from his ankle injury and he is expected to return to practice on Sunday, according to the Denver Post. Simms was projected to miss the first few weeks of the season with the injury.

Our View:The Broncos are just having a light practice today, but Simms is expected to take snaps and work with the team. The real test will come Tuesday, when the team as an extended practice at full speed. We will know more about his condition after that session.

Adam Schefter is reporting on his Twitter page that Broncos' quarterback Chris Simms has a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks. Simms suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks.

Our View:It looks like the Broncos will have to make a decision on what to do about their backup quarterback situation, because they can't go with Tom Brandstater as their only option while Simms is out. Look for the team to bring in a quarterback, and what was already a weakness for the team is now looking like a disaster.

According to the Denver Post, Broncos' quarterback Chris Simms suffered a severely sprained ankle during Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks. Simms is likely done for the preseason.

Our View:Simms was unlikely to win the starting job, but he puts the Broncos in a very dangerous situation. Starter Kyle Orton has not been overly impressive this summer while adjusting to the new offense, and the team really doesn't have anyone behind Simms who is capable of playing. He should be able to return early in the season, and he will serve as the backup unless Orton struggles badly.

Chris Simms sustained a lower-leg injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The severity of the injury is yet to be disclosed. Simms cannot afford to miss time while considered the underdog in the race with Kyle Orton for the starting gig at quarterback.
