Running back Dominic Rhodes has rejoined the Indianapolis Colts, signing a one-year deal with the team he helped lead to a Super Bowl championship, according to the Indianapolis Star. Rhodes, a free agent after being recently released by the Oakland Raiders, will receive approximately $650,000.

Our View:Rhodes is expected to backup Joseph Addai, though he will face competition from incumbent Kenton Keith and rookie Mike Hart.

Running back Dominic Rhodes enjoyed his most productive Sundays with the Indianapolis Colts. And now that Rhodes is looking for work, it is likely that he'll land back in Indianapolis, according to NFL.com. Per Adam Schefter, Rhodes and the Colts are expected to reach agreement on a deal that will enable him to back up featured running back Joseph Addai.

Our View:Indianapolis drafted Michigan running back Mike Hart in the sixth round with the 202nd overall pick, but Rhodes has already proven himself as a capable running back during his previous tenure in Indianapolis. If signed, he would likely reprise his role as backup to Addai, and Kenton Keith could be the odd man out in the running back rotation.

Free agent Dominic Rhodes could be invited for a visit by the Broncos, according to ESPN Insider.

Our View:Rhodes was released by the Raiders, but could still get the job done as he averaged 4.0 yards over 75 carries in 2007. Rhodes is also an asset as a receiver out of the backfield, and would be added to the Broncos as a change-of-pace for starter Travis Henry and as a receiving option on passing downs. A return to Indianapolis is also possible for Rhodes.

John Clayton of ESPN stated that Dominic Rhodes could be heading back to Indianapolis following his release from the Raiders. The Colts drafted Michigan running back Mike Hart in the sixth round, but could bring Rhodes back if the price is right.

Our View:Rhodes will land somewhere, but won't likely have a shot at a starting role. The Colts would use Rhodes frequently to spell Joseph Addai, and use him as a receiver out of the backfield, like they did in the past. A return would benefit him, and his fantasy value for 2008.

Following up on an earlier report, the Oakland Raiders notified halfback Dominic Rhodes that he is being released, this according to ESPN.com. The salary cap was behind Rhodes' release. When the Raiders traded cornerback Fabian Washington to Baltimore Sunday, they took a $1.093,750 cap hit, pushing them beyond the acceptable cap figure.

Our View:The move wasn't much of a surprise. The Raiders drafted Darren McFadden fourth overall and roster sophomore hopeful Michael Bush and veterans Justin Fargas and LaMont Jordan.
