Kevan Barlow was in New England on Monday for a tryout with the Patriots, reports the Boston Globe. It sounds like the Patriots are going to be without Sammy Morris for up to a month because of a chest/rib injury, and with Laurence Maroney continuing to nurse a sore groin the team is looking for warm bodies for their backfield. After being cut by three different teams in the last two years, Barlow is only lukewarm, and it's unclear if the Patriots will even make him a contract offer.

This is Barlow’s second visit with the team in the past week. Barlow, who played high school and college ball in Pittsburgh, would be brought in as depth and as competition for Najeh Davenport as Willie Parker’s backup.
