TSN is reporting that ex-Falcons' quarterback Michael Vick may have an opportunity to play in the new UFL this season. UFL commissioner Michael Huyghus told the media "One of the things that is important in our premiere season is to showcase the quality of talent and the coaches, and to be able to show outstanding players who find themselves in this quagmire the NFL creates," Huyghue said. "Michael Vick might be that kind of player because he is ... a phenomenal talent, but he needs transitionining back into the NFL."

Our View:Vick's NFL status for this season is very much in doubt, and at this point the best move for Vick seems to be the UFL. He can showcase himself in a competitve setting, and more importantly he can do it at the quarterback position. We will keep you updated on the situation.

Michael Vick could be in jeopardy of missing the entire 2009 NFL campaign, according to Yahoo! Sports. A source close to the quarterback said, "Vick is not just walking out one day and playing again. Yeah, he served his time, but he has to prove himself. When the commissioner talks about wanting to see remorse, he is not kidding."

Our View:Vick is suspended indefinitely, and does not garner attention in fantasy leagues as of now.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said on Thursday that a decision would come in "due time" about lifting Michael Vick's indefinite suspension, and that it might not be until after the season starts, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Goodell says he has not spoken with Vick yet, and won't until after he is released from home confinement and federal custody on July 20. Right now, it doesn't look likely that Vick will be a meaningful fantasy player in 2009.

The Falcons took a $7 million cap hit for the 2009 season by releasing Michael Vick according to ESPN.

Our View:This will be the last season in which Vick figures against the Falcons salary cap, surely a joyous fact for the team.

The Buccaneers reiterated that they are not interested in quarterback Michael Vick, according to the Tampa Tribune. GM Mark Dominik said, "No, I do not see that in our future. We weigh every option when it comes to players, and I can honestly say we have done our due diligence on Michael Vick and we are not interested."

Our View:Vick was released by the Falcons today. The Buccaneers look to be content with Byron Leftwich and Luke McCown competing for the top two spots at quarterback on the depth chart.
