Darwin Walker's rep talked to the Panthers regarding a possible return to the club, according to the Rock Hill Herald.

Our View:An October car accident left him with a sore neck and back. The 31-year-old vet turned down an offer from a West Coast club because he wants to stay close to South Carolina.

Darwin Walker will start in place of Ma'ake Kemoeatu (ankle) on Sunday against the Giants, according to the AP.

Our View:Walker has not seen much action this season, and he can be considered a sizeable downgrade from Kemoeatu.

Carolina defensive tackle Darwin Walker was involved in a car accident on Saturday, and though it was not serious, he has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game, according to the AP.

Our View:The move to put him on the injury list was apparently a precaution, to see if his neck stiffens up before the game.
April 28, 2008
Darwin Walker has signed a one-year deal with the Panthers, according to the Rock Hill Herald. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View:He is no longer the solid player that he once was with the Eagles, and won't provide much more than quality depth along the defensive line for the Panthers. He had trouble staying healthy during his stint with the Bears as well.

The Chicago Sun Times reported Tuesday that the agent for defensive tackle Darwin Walker made it clear his client expects to return as a Bear, but that might be wishful thinking. Walker is due a $5.2 million roster bonus on March 4 after an injury-plagued season. His salary-cap number for 2008 is $6.5 million.
