Paul Smith practiced Wednesday for the first time since suffering fractures and muscle damage near his left eye on October 1, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "He had the same energy level and focus that he had before," coach Scott Linehan said. "It was like he'd never missed a snap. It didn't look like he had any hesitation at all." Smith, the Rams' starting fullback, is listed as probable for this weekend's game at San Diego.

Paul Smith is expected to return to practice Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Smith has missed the last two games with fractures and muscle damage near his left eye. It was orignally thought the he would be out for another month, but it now appears there is a chance he will play this weekend.

Paul Smith has a concussion and will be evaluated for possible small fractures around his eyes as a result of a collision with the Lions Frank Davis Sunday, according to the AP. Smith's status for next week isn't known at this time.
