Player Notes
October 6, 2008
Deuce McAllister rushed a paltry six times on Monday night for an equally poor total of just 13 yards for the Saints.

Our View:So much for a follow up effort after last week's 20 carry, 73 yard effort against the 49ers. With Reggie Bush dominating the ball with 19 touches Deuce was left with little to do on this night.

Deuce McAllister fully practiced Wednesday and said he felt fine after a 20-carry workload in Week 4, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:He had no swelling in his surgically-repaired knee, just the normal soreness. He has a tough match-up against Minnesota in Week 5, but rookie Chris Johnson did manage to score twice against them last weekend.

Coach Sean Payton stated that Deuce McAllister will be more involved in the Saints' offense going forward after handling 20 carries in Week 4 without any issues, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:The Saints rank fifth in the NFL in scoring with 27.8 points per game, and McAllister should once again be owned in all leagues.

Running back Deuce McAllister rushed 20 times for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 win over the 49ers. He added one catch for 10 yards.

Our View:Sean Payton finally gave Deuce a shot to help out, and he looked decent. His role definitely cuts into Pierre Thomas's workload, and it could also end up hurting Reggie Bush a little bit.

Running back Deuce McAllister will be active in Week 4 against the 49ers, and he will get "extensive work," according to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network.

Our View:We're not sure what "extensive" means to Mr. Schefter, but an earlier report suggested 10-15 carries. McAllister's role could come at the expense of Pierre Thomas, who has been handling short-yardage work.
