Sammy Morris started in place of the injured Laurence Maroney (shoulder), and was ineffective in Sunday's loss to Miami as he only mustered 27 rushing yards on nine carries, according to the Boston Globe. LaMont Jordan was dealing with a foot injury, but managed to handle six carries for 22 yards.

Our View:Morris struggled as a starter, but it was only one game, and he should continue to hold fantasy value as a goal-line threat. He has scored two touchdowns over the first three games of the season.

Patriots running back Sammy Morris was impressive in Week 1, running for 53 yards and a touchdown, and his tough inside running means he may see more goal-line carries, according to Sporting News Today.

Our View:If this news holds true, it not only increases Morris' fantasy value, but Laurence Maroney's will take a dip. Fantasy owners who have Maroney on their squad would do well to ensure that they have Morris as well.

Running back Sammy Morris was on the field for New England's veteran minicamp, well on his way to making a full recovery from a freak chest injury that landed him on injured reserve last fall, according to USA Today.

Our View:Morris says the workouts he began last winter have him on pace to be at full strength for training camp and the regular season. He is expected to be the primary backup to Laurence Maroney this season.

Sammy Morris is going to be used as a bruising chance-of-pace rusher while he serves as Laurence Maroney's backup this season, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Morris could steal some goal-line touches away from Maroney and should hold some fantasy value this season. He scored three touchdowns in 2007 and topped 100 rushing yards twice over his six games before getting hurt. Speaking of that, he is believed to be fully recovered from his sternum clavicle separation injury.

According to the Boston Globe, Sammy Morris had no trouble swinging a bat, playing catch and running the bases during Kevin Faulk's charity softball game Saturday night, notes the Boston Herald.

Our View:Morris appears to be fully recovered from a sternum clavicle separation injury that ended his season prematurely last year. The running back feels he’ll be ready to go today when passing camp starts in Foxboro.

Sammy Morris was on hand for the first day of the New England Patriots' offseason program, according to the Boston Globe. Good news for the New England backfield, as Morris has been recovering from a sternum injury for the past six months. He is expected to be ready to go for training camp.
