Expanding on an earlier report, the AFP reports that despite having what was announced as a torn groin tendon, running back LaDainian Tomlinson said he will likely be a game-time decision Sunday against Pittsburgh. "I don't know. All this time I've been taking it day by day," Tomlinson said Wednesday. "I think, depending on the training staff and where they think I am, if they think I should, obviously that's when I'll try to push it."

Our View:Tomlinson added that the reason he has been listed as doubtful is because he exited last weekend's game against the Colts in the second quarter, not necessarily because his chances of playing Sunday have been severely limited by the injury.

The Associated Press reports that San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson confirmed Wednesday what most Chargers fans have been fearing: he has a torn tendon in his groin.

Our View:Tomlinson is listed as doubtful for San Diego's divisional playoff game in Pittsburgh Sunday. Assuming he does play, it's hard to imagine LT being marginally effective, especially in cold weather. It appears the rushing load will be placed on the shoulders of Darren Sproles.

Steelers' coach Mike Tomlin expects LaDainian Tomlinson to play in Sunday's playoff game at Heinz Field despite a severely strained groin, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Tomlin said, "Guys like him defy the odds. That's why he is who he is."

Our View:The Steelers are preparing as if Tomlinson will play, but the Chargers are yet to make a decision on the elite running back.

As of now, LaDainian Tomlinson is likely to miss Sunday's playoff game at Pittsburgh due to his severely strained groin, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Coach Norv Turner said, "He might be able to play in another week if we were able to go on. Or maybe he could play in another week after that."

Our View:Tomlinson could miss the remainder of the playoffs, but the club would still be in good shape with Darren Sproles at running back, as he broke loose for a game-ending 22-yard touchdown run in last weekend's overtime win over the Colts.

LaDainian Tomlinson is iffy at best to play for the Chargers in next week's divisional round game, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:Tomlinson only had five carries in Saturday's wild card win over the Colts, all coming in the first half. He did score a touchdown, but he looked to be in a lot of pain when he was on the field. We'll keep you posted for next week's game.
