September 4, 2008
Plaxico Burress led all receivers Thursday night as he caught 10 passes for 133 yards. No other receiver on New York had more than two catches.

Our View:Burress continues to have great chemistry with Eli Manning. Plaxico picked up where he left off last year, as an elite fantasy WR. Continue to start him as a WR1.

Giants signed WR Plaxico Burress to a five-year, $35 million contract, according to Profootballtalk.com. Burress will make $11 million in 2008.

Our View:With the departure of Jeremy Shockey and the slew of young recievers on the roster, we can expect Plaxico to continue to be the Giants best receiver for many years to come. Plaxico is an elite fantasy WR, start him as one.

Wide receiver Plaxico Burress went through another full practice on Sunday. This time, Burress went full-speed and worked without limitations. "Nobody’s more excited than me," Burress informs the New York Daily News. "I’m back out there doing some of the things I wasn’t able to do over the past year or so. I’m getting my feet back under me and getting into game shape." He has been bothered by a sprained right ankle.

Our View:A lack of practice time didn't hurt Burress much in 2007, and we're hoping his down time in August won't lead to a slow start in September. Fantasy owners should plan on using him in Week 1.

Plaxico Burress did not practice Saturday and will not play Monday night against the Browns, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He practiced in a limited capacity on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, but was out Saturday due to lingering ankle soreness. It's uncertain if he'll practice when the team returns to work at Giants Stadium on Wednesday. He previously guaranteed that he will be ready to play in Week 1 against Washington.

Plaxico Burress guarantees he will be ready to play in Week 1 against Washington, according to the NY Daily News. His injured right ankle is doing well. His bigger issue at the moment is getting used to the orthotics that he’s now required to wear in both shoes (because, he said, he’s got flat feet). As a result, both of his feet are sore, and he said the orthotics are going to take some getting used to.

Our View:Burress noted he will not return to practice fully until he is 100 percent, but he expects to be near that by the time the Giants play the Redskins, which will be a Thursday night game.
