There is belief that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could suspend Plaxico Burress indefinitely, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:This is not encouraging regarding Burress' outlook for the 2009 season, especially since teams are seemingly losing interest in him.

The Bears are no longer likely to sign Plaxico Burress, according to ESPN.

Our View:Potential Plax suitors keep falling by the wayside. If he does get to play in 2009, a big if depending on commissioner Roger Goodell's ruling, some team will surely sign him, but prognosticating who at this juncture is fruitless.

Regarding a previous report, the Bucs are not one of the teams interested in Plaxico Burress, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Bucs GM Mark Diminik sats he has no interested in signing the troublesome, trigger-happy receiver even though the Bucs previously contacted him this offseason. Expect more teams to bail out due to Burress' troubled past.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus indicated on his twitter page that there are five NFL teams interested in client Plaxico Burress. He did not name the new teams that entered the mix.

Our View:Rosenhaus expects more teams to garner interest in Burress over the coming weeks as well. As of now, Burress is worth stashing as a flier for deeper fantasy leagues with the chance that he will play in the NFL this season.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said a grand jury will hear the case against Plaxico Burress next month. This could mean Burress will face a trial date sometime during the NFL season, instead of after the season as his attorney originally said.

Our View:Things just got interesting for any team looking at signing Plax. This by no means guarantees an earlier trial, but it is now a distinct possibility, whereas a week ago it looked like a foregone conclusion that his trial would be after the season. Between the sure-to-be lengthy suspension likely to be handed down by Commissioner Goodell and the possibility of a trial during the season, Plaxico's chances of playing this season are starting to look bleak.
