March 4, 2010 After one mostly disappointing season with the team, the Bengals have released Laveranues Coles, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Our View:It's no secret that one of the Bengals' top priorities this offseason is too improve its receiving corps, and the club apparently had no room for the rapidly aging Coles. Considering he caught 43 balls for 514 yards and five touchdowns last season, he should be able to find a job, just not a starting one. |

February 19, 2010 Head coach Marvin Lewis noted that he is pleased with receiver Laveranues Coles, according to the Bengals' Our View:Lewis considers Coles to be a leader, and said he made some clutch catches and blocked well in 2009. This is encouraging for the veteran receiver, but he was far from a solid fantasy contributor with just 43 receptions for 514 yards and five touchdowns over 16 games. The team could certainly find a better wingman for Chad OchoCinco. |

January 9, 2010 Laveranues Coles led the Bengals with six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown in today's 24-14 playoff loss to the Jets at Paul Brown Stadium. Our View:OchoCinco was held to just two catches for 28 yards while blanketed by elite cornerback Darrelle Revis. It was a good effort for Coles against his former club, considering that he left the game twice with injuries. |

January 9, 2010 Laveranues Coles has once again left today's game against the Jets, this time with a head injury, according to Joe Reedy's (Cincinnati Enquirer) Our View:Coles is doubtful to return with around five minutes left in regulation. He exited earlier with a jammed left thumb. |
