After working out a plea bargain, Jamal Lewis officially pleaded guilty to federal drug charges on Thursday. He will be sentenced to four months in jail and two months in a halfway house. While he will be able to serve his time in the offseason, he undoubtedly faces an NFL-imposed suspension. "We will review the court documents from today's proceedings and announce a decision on league discipline as soon as possible, perhaps as early as (Friday)," said NFL spokesman Greg Aiello. Lewis has five days to appeal any suspension, and will likely play on Sunday.

Jamal Lewis and federal prosecutors have reached a plea-bargain agreement on his drug indictment charges that will have Lewis serve no more than 4-6 months in prison beginning no sooner than February, according to the Baltimore Sun.
