November 18, 2006
Santana Moss has ruled himself out of tomorrow's game due to his ailing hamstring, according to the Washington Post. The Redskins had downgraded his status Friday to doubtful, but Moss hasn't practiced and isn't ready to go. "I'm on the same program. I didn't do anything all week," Moss said. "I didn't make it worse, but it's not getting any better. I like to be myself, and I don't want to be out there if I'm not myself." Coach Joe Gibbs still was holding out a "slim hope" that Moss would be able to go, though.
November 17, 2006
Santana Moss was downgraded to doubtful Friday after missing his third straight practice, the Redskins official site reports. Moss is dealing with a sore hamstring and wasn't able to play at full speed last week. "I didn't make [the hamstring injury] worse, but it's just not getting better, so why should I keep doing something to it?" Moss said on Friday. "I have to make sure that I can be myself. Last week I wasn't myself and I don't want to be out there if I can't do that." Head coach Joe Gibbs is calling Moss a game-time decision, but given that the downgrade came Friday, it seems highly unlikely that Moss will be on the field at Tampa Bay. If Moss indeed can't go, Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El would likely start against the Buccaneers, with James Thrash the third wide receiver.

Santana Moss returned to practice Wednesday, although not in a full capacity, according to the Washington Post. "I'm going out there and running around a little bit, but it's not like I'm going to go out and run like crazy," Moss said. "I want to progress throughout the week. I don't want the first day to set me back, especially with that weather. I'm not going to be stupid at all."

You go out and try to be Superman on it and, you know what, just because you pushed me when you weren't supposed to push me, it prolonged the healing process. So I don't want to do that. But we'll take it day-to-day. Hopefully, it will get better and I will be able to play Sunday."
