According to MLive.com, Jon Jansen, competing for a starting job, says that he will play any position on the offensive line.

Our View:The long time Redskin has never played anywhere but right tackle, but has told the Lions he will play right or left tackle, either guard position and even center. This new found versatility gives Jansen a better shot at landing a job.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that new Lion Jon Jansen passed his physical Monday morning and signed his one-year contract. Jansen is expected to compete for a starting spot at right tackle.

Our View:The Lions were so confident that Jansen would pass his physical that they released George Foster this morning. Jansen could compete for a starting job, but he will more likely be a rotational guy. He may also start working at guard for the team in the future, but right now he will exclusively work at tackle.

According to the Washington Times, the Lions have agreed to a one-year contract with tackle Jon Jansen.

Our View:The long-time veteran tackle was released by the Redskins and then quickly picked up by Detroit. The 33-year old will likely sign for the veteran minimum and will compete for the starting job at right tackle.

According to WashingtonRedskins.com, the team has released long-time tackle Jon Jansen. Jansen played ten seasons for the Redskins after being drafted in the second round of the 1999 draft.

Our View:Jansen struggled a bit last season, and the Skins want to get younger at the tackle position. This move comes as a bit of a surprise, but Jansen still has some football left in him and he should play somewhere this season. Stephon Heyer is expected to move into the starting right tackle spot.

Our View:Jansen's return would be great news for Clinton Portis and Jason Campbell.
