Joey Porter will visit the Redskins Thursday, according to Jason LaCanfora's (NFL Network) twitter page.

Our View:Washington is going to employ a 3-4 defense in 2010, and Porter gained a lot of experience as an outside pass rusher in that system during his time at Pittsburgh and Miami. He could be paired with rising star Brian Orakpo if signed.

According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, the Cardinals will host recently released linebacker Joey Porter on Monday.

Our View:The Cards lost Karlos Dansby to free agency, so there is a big hole to fill at linebacker. The 33-year-old Porter's best days are behind him, but he still had nine sacks last season. He would be a nice fit with the Cards, who are suddenly thin at the position.
March 5, 2010
As expected, Joey Porter has been released by the Dolphins, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Our View:The Dolphins wanted to release him earlier, but had to wait until today to make it official. He should find work with another team looking for a veteran rush linebacker.
February 12, 2010
Bob Glauber of Newsday stated that the Jets will not pursue Joey Porter after his release from the Dolphins becomes official.

Our View:The Jets love to blitz and could use Porter's services as a rush linebacker, but it does not look like he will be heading to New York as of now.
February 12, 2010
Joey Porter has been placed back on Miami's roster, according to their official team twitter page.

Our View:Porter's release today was deemed to be invalid, and the Dolphins will have to wait until March 5 to officially part ways with him.
February 12, 2010
The Dolphins have released Joey Porter, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Porter had been publicly displaying his displeasure with the Miami for some time now after his role was reduced in 2009. He's expressed his desire to play somewhere out west, and while he can be a major headache at times, he still a talented enough pass rusher to draw interest from at least a few teams.
February 8, 2010
Joey Porter is expected to be cut by the Dolphins prior to the start of free agency, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:The 33-year-old rush linebacker chipped in 32 sacks over three seasons with the Dolphins. He should be able to catch on with another club.
February 2, 2010
Updating an earlier report, Joey Porter has stated that he would like to play in California, according to Omar Kelly's (Sun-Sentinel) twitter page.

Our View:The 33-year-old rush linebacker would also like to play in a 3-4 defense. The Chargers and 49ers fit the bill, but it is uncertain if either team is interested in acquiring him.
February 2, 2010
The Miami Herald believes the Dolphins will ultimately be forced to cut linebacker Joey Porter this offseason.

Our View:He has publicly requested a trade, and is fast becoming a distraction. With the Dolphins due to pay him a $1 million roster bonus in the first week of March, look for him to be gone before then.
February 1, 2010
Joey Porter has requested a trade from the Dolphins, according to Jeff Darlington's (Miami Herald) twitter page.

Our View:Porter had a good year in 2009 as he racked up nine sacks, but would like to be traded because he does not want to serve as a role player.
January 5, 2010
Linebacker Joey Porter most likely won't be back with the Dolphins in 2010, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Our View:Porter racked up 26.5 sacks the past two seasons in South Florida. Although he'll turn 33 next spring, he's still likely got another year or two of good football left in him.
