ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Jeff Garcia will not be headed back to Oakland this season. Raiders' coach Tom Cable has come out publicly and said the team is not interested in the services of their former quarterback.

Our View:The Raiders are probably wishing now that they would have held onto Garcia for a bit longer, because JaMarcus Russell has been historically awful over the first three weeks. Don't expect to see a reunion in Oakland, but there are still plenty of teams who could use Garcia.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles have released quarterback Jeff Garcia to make room on their roster for the recently signed Jeremiah Trotter.

Our View:Garcia's signing with the Eagles was a head-scratcher from the get-go, and he is now free to sign with any number of more quarterback needy teams, including his former clubs Tampa Bay and Oakland (though an Oakland reunion is unlikely). Don't expect him to stay unsigned through the week.

Jeff Garcia's contract with the Eagles is guaranteed for two weeks, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Garcia could potentially see some action with the Eagles, namely if Donovan McNabb needs to miss more games with his fractured rib, and if Kevin Kolb struggles today against New Orleans.

Jeff Garcia reportedly agreed to a deal with the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:Bringing back A.J. Feeley was an option for the Eagles, but he was scooped up by the Panthers. The 39-year-old vet started six games with the Eagles back in 2006, and will likely serve as Kevin Kolb's backup in Week 2 if Donovan McNabb is unable to play with his fractured rib. The club needed depth with receiver DeSean Jackson an emergency backup and Michael Vick suspended through the week.

There is reportedly some interest in quarterback Jeff Garcia, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Raiders' head coach Tom Cable stated that Garcia was released because he asked to be. None of the potentially interested NFL teams were disclosed, but perhaps the Eagles would consider bringing him back with Donovan McNabb dealing with a fractured rib. He started six games for Philadelphia back in 2006.
